Mia POV

I cleared my throat, although fully aware that my voice would not be making its appearance. I hadn’t heard my voice in so long, I had almost forgotten what I sounded like.

‘Lyla, Allister’s mate, came home a sobbing mess because her mate had been killed by you.’ I nodded to my son who gave me a knowing look. ‘Lyla stormed down the hall to where your sister and I were captured and dragged your sister out of the room by her hair. I knew better than to give a reaction. It would only make things worse.’ I thought of the state my daughter was in when I first saw her after being rescued. I could tell by the semi-healed injuries that she was lucky to be alive. No one needed to tell me that.
