Chapter 17

Without warning, both of their eyes suddenly locked onto me.

I felt a rush of nerves overwhelm me as I was put on the spot, but I managed to keep my composure. My heart raced and my palms began to sweat, as if it were almost instinctive for me to be ready for anything in that moment. Every muscle in my body tensed up, as though preparing for the worst.

Aiden was staring me down as though I was a criminal who had done something terribly wrong. I didn't know what to say, so instead I simply called out his name and carefully took hold of the hem of his shirt in an attempt to get him to stop and go back indoors.

“Go back to our room, Leilani.” Aiden spoke up, his voice low and menacing. He had an aura of danger surrounding him as he uttered each word, barely able to contain his rage. His expression was stony and unreadable, but the venom in his voice made it clear that he was beyond angry.
