Chapter 3: You’re really in love with her

Alley Houston refuses to stop. She speaks while casting a sharp, disdainful glance at Brenda Mclean, then reaches out to grab the silky, chestnut hair of the beautiful woman standing beside Karimba Cellon, resembling an angel. Brenda Mclean is caught off guard, her eyes flash with anger, but considering Karimba Cellon standing right beside her, she immediately shouts and tears start streaming down her face.

"Alley Houston, what are you doing? Let go!"

Karimba Cellon shouts, disregarding the curious gazes of the people around him, and rushes to grab Alley Houston's delicate arm. Meanwhile, Brenda Mclean sobs and pleads:

"Ms. Alley Houston, you've misunderstood. Karimba and I are just friends. I understand he is divorcing you, and I reluctantly accepted it for the sake of Karimba. But I beg you, don't make things difficult for Karimba anymore, I beg you! If you feel so bad now, just hit me, insult me, do whatever you want to me, but don’t hurt him, please…"

How could Karimba Cellon not be pained by those desperate and anguished words? Filled with anger, he tightly grasps Alley Houston's wrist, yanking it away from the tangle of messy brown hair, causing Brenda Mclean great distress. However, the more fiercely he reacts, the tighter Alley Houston clings to her, refusing to let go.

"So, you like this slut, don't you? Today, I'll show you the consequences of getting involved with my husband."

While speaking, Alley Houston ruthlessly slaps Brenda Mclean's face. The slap causes Brenda Mclean to stagger and collide into Karimba Cellon's chest. In reality, Karimba Cellon's reaction is somewhat slow. Before he can do anything, the fragile figure of the woman is already in his hands.

Karimba Cellon recoils in horror, unintentionally pushing Brenda Mclean away with his hand, causing her to receive another fierce slap from Alley Houston. Karimba Cellon looks at Brenda Mclean as she falls to the ground, only then realizing the chaotic mess he has gotten himself into.

How strange it is for a married man to defend his lover while scolding his wife. And now, he pushes his lover towards his wife to provoke jealousy?

Brenda Mclean has been slapped twice, her lips bleeding, unable to recall being pushed away by Karimba Cellon earlier. This time, she cries genuinely instead of acting.

"Karimba, help me! It hurts so much!"

Karimba Cellon snaps back to reality, looking at Brenda Mclean with her swollen cheeks, feeling a mix of heartache and helplessness. He rushes towards Alley Houston, grabs her by the wrist, and pushes her backward.

"Have you caused enough trouble? I don't need you in my life, but I do need my honor! You crazy woman, get out of my sight!"

Alley Houston falls to the ground, stunned, as she watches Karimba Cellon standing in front of Brenda Mclean. She smiles bitterly, feeling the pain:

"So, you protect her like this? Is the three-year bond of marriage not worth more than a cheap affair like her? Today, I finally know where I stand in your heart."

Alley Houston is crying and laughing at the same time. Her face contorts in a distressing manner. The pain and shock in her eyes suddenly struck Karimba Cellon's heart. He doesn't love her, he's afraid of her, yet every time he sees her in agony, he doesn't feel comfortable. Deep down in his heart, Karimba wants to live in harmony with Alley Houston. However, that illness hinders him, and her madness becomes unbearable for him.

"Alley, I'm sorry. We're over now. Let's hold onto the best image of each other, okay?"

Karimba Cellon's words shatter Alley Houston's heart. Did he say that to protect Brenda Mclean rather than out of pity for her? Alley Houston takes a deep breath, the pain in her chest causing her legs to tremble, making it impossible for her to stand firm. The agony and despair in her eyes tighten Karimba Cellon's heart with immense pain.

Karimba's mood sinks, his eyes clearly showing sorrow for Alley Houston. This infuriates Brenda Mclean to an extreme extent. She glares at Alley Houston with a resentful gaze. Then, suddenly, Brenda Mclean collapses to the ground, clutching her stomach in pain.

Karimba Cellon panics and embraces Brenda Mclean, while Alley Houston is shocked and distraught. Seeing the man she loves holding another woman, Alley feels an excruciating pain that seems to explode in her chest.

"Brenda, are you okay? Where does it hurt?" Karimba Cellon anxiously asks Brenda Mclean. She cries in pain, shaking her head and softly saying, "I'm fine, take care of Alley. Comfort her quickly, and as for me... my old illness must have relapsed. Let me take a taxi and go to the hospital."

Karimba Cellon shakes his head firmly and insists, "No, I'll take you to the hospital."

"But Alley..." Brenda Mclean looks at Alley Houston with feigned concern.

Alley Houston laughs bitterly and tells her, "You're good at pretending! Do you want to go to the hospital, right? Well, I'll grant your wish!"

"That's enough, Alley!" Karimba Cellon, with a pounding headache, shouts at Alley Houston. "Go home! Stop hurting others!"

Alley Houston takes a deep breath, enduring her own pain.

"You’re really in love with Brenda, Karimba. I have never seen you be so gentle with anyone, not even hesitating to touch her," Alley Houston's words startle Karimba Cellon. He never thought his actions could be interpreted as love. Furthermore, he never thought he would fall in love with Brenda Mclean.

"It's ridiculous!" Alley Houston scoffs, a bitter tone laced in her laughter. "I always thought you would never love anyone, Karimba. A wealthy and cold-hearted billionaire like you becomes warm and gentle when in love. It's just my misfortune."

Alley stares intensely at Brenda as if to warn her, then she looks at Karimba and continues her words:

"Eventually, you will regret this, Karimba!" She says.

After saying that, Alley Houston laughs bitterly, struggles to get up, and walks unsteadily. As she turns to leave, Alley Houston sneers and a triumphant smile spreads across her face.
