Chapter Nineteen

“You know, you could also get some shower.”

“You’re saying I smell?” I mocked her, and my voice came out huskier than I intended, playing so close to her ears, sending shivers down her back. I affected her, more than she cared to admit.

“Not to be rude, but yes… grizzly, you do!” She smirked at me. “You go ahead, while you take your shower, I check the pantry for food!”

I got pushed to the bathroom, then she closed the door behind my back. What was I supposed to do? Anger and frustration poured on me as I opened the door again to find her bent over something in the wardrobe. What a delightful view! Maybe those manly trousers weren’t so bad on her after all.

Since I brought her here, I dedicated myself to heal her from whatever had happened, but this last hour has been a challenge of sorts.
