I watched Jett stagger backward and cough up blood.

The man laughed, a mocking laughter. It irked me. Subconsciously, I was in the air and my feet connected to the side of Rhino’s head. My body twisted and delivered a clean flying kick to his head. It was over before I knew it, and the six-foot-tall giant was already clutching his head and groggy. I didn’t mean to attack one of them like that…but after I saw Jett and heard the man’s derisive laugh, I guess I lost it.

“That’s all you got?”

I heard a sneer from behind. Realizing what I’d done, I sent an apologetic gaze to Rhino who was still dazed and visibly disoriented.

“Looks like you’ve lost your touch.”

“Why don’t you come at me, then?”

The man chuckled and walked toward us, provoked.

“Fine.”

I backed away, giving them space to fight. Jett was only barely taller than him, and the man was more buff. Jett was in his stance. The latter was standing upright, relaxed.
