~Robert's POV~

“Mick, I really need your help!” I said as we sat in the lounge. I knew I needed men if I was going to go against the Black Wolves.

“Man, you know I’ve always had your back and supported you,” he replied. “But I don’t want those thugs in my territory.”

“Please… this is about the life of someone I love.”

Mick laughed at my words.

“Are you a lover boy now? The Robert I know was never weakened by love.”

“I care about Mia, honestly. Even if she doesn’t love me yet, I can’t bear the thought of any harm coming to her.”

“Gosh, man. You’ve changed,” Mick said with a shake of his head. “But I’ll always support you, no matter what. We go way back.”

“Thanks, man. I knew I could count on you.”

“So when are we moving?”

“Tonight.”

As we made preparations to rescue Mia, I couldn’t help but think back to everything that had led me here. Before I met Mick, I got into a street fight and was captured by Santiago’s men. Those days were terrifying—I was beaten daily and forced to do hard la

  • Love me Again    Chapter Twenty: The Motive

~Victoria’s POV~“The mysterious disappearance of Mia Ross Lud has left the public disturbed… Curiosity continues to grow over her sudden vanishing during…”I stood frozen in front of the television, watching the news anchor speak with exaggerated concern. “Why must all these reporters add emotions to stuff like this?” I muttered, glaring at the screen as if the woman on it was someone I personally disliked.Patrick, my boyfriend—the senator’s son I’d been dating for over a year—leaned against the wall behind me. “What do you plan to do with Mia?” he asked, his tone edged with worry.I turned to face him slowly.“Why did you even do it?” he pressed. “She’s your brother’s wife, for crying out loud.”“Because I want that wench to show her face,” I snapped, biting my finger in frustration as I kept my eyes glued to the television. “I want to see her reaction.”Patrick sighed. “What if Robert finds out you’re behind her disappearance?”I scoffed. “He’s not acting. He knew the truth about

James Lud’s POV “What’s the information so far? Have you found any leads?” I demanded, my voice sharp and cutting.“No, sir. We’re still looking,” Reaper answered, head bowed in submission. None of them dared to meet my eyes. The response made my blood boil. Without hesitation, I grabbed the mug in front of me and hurled it at the wall. The loud crash of ceramic echoed through the room like thunder, and my men flinched, visibly shaken. They knew what was coming.“How dare you bring such useless reports to me?” I roared. “Richard’s wife has been hiding for years, and the moment she appears live on stage, you fools let her slip through your fingers?”I stormed over to Reaper and slammed my walking stick across his back. Pain tore through my leg as I moved, but the anger masked it. Ever since the accident, this damned stick had become part of me—but I could still wield it with force.“I’m so sorry, Master. We’ll do our best next time,” Reaper gasped, bowing lower, trembling. He knew he

~Robert's POV~I woke up abruptly to the sound of Mia’s scream echoing through the room. She was only in her bra, probably stunned by the realization of our situation.“What’s wrong?” I asked, standing up quickly. “Are you okay?” I tried to reach for her, but she pulled away in fear.I scoffed and stepped out of bed, my bare chest fully exposed.“Did we… di... did—” she stuttered. I already knew what she was trying to say.“No. It almost happened, but no.”“What? How dare you take advantage of me? I was—”She was still talking when I moved back to the bed and sat beside her. “You were drunk and crazy, Mia. I didn’t know you wanted me so badly,” I said with a teasing smirk.“Get away from me,” she said, pushing at my chest. She had no idea how arousing her touch felt. “Get away!”But as she pushed again, I caught her hand and leaned in, pressing my lips against hers. Her bare body pressed against my chest. She didn’t respond like she had last night, but she didn’t resist either.“Remem

  • Love me Again    Chapter Seventeen: A lonely Banquet

~Mia’s POV~I wasn’t particularly familiar with such gatherings, and part of my relief about being on this trip with Robert was because he knew how these things were done. Unsure of what to wear, I had finally settled on a black, silky pencil-length gown with strapless arms. I styled my hair sideways, letting it fall softly over one side of my face. Around my neck hung the silver necklace Robert had gifted me. I paired the look with an ivory-branded black bag and matching shoes. Dressed in black and silver, I looked elegant… but incomplete.I had waited for Robert for an hour, calling him multiple times without a single response before heading out alone. The moment I stepped into the event center, I paused to take it all in. The grand hall sparkled under a sea of crystal chandeliers, casting soft golden light on polished marble floors. Glasses clinked delicately in the air, and the buzz of sophisticated laughter floated between warm classical tunes performed by a live quartet in the c

  • Love me Again    Chapter Sixteen: Pay Back

~Robert POV~ I barged into my office as I saw Mia leave, looking sad. I knew she had a fighting spirit, but she had the most discouraging look ever. “Who's the news channel releasing this article?” I asked my personal assistant. “Sir, it's the Daily Truth newspaper that released the article,” he said. “File a report against them. Now!” I yelled, banging my hands on the table. “For defamation of character and lies,” I said. “Yes, sir,” he said and walked out of the office. Just then, my phone rang. “Speak,” I said coldly, already knowing the caller. “Boss, I found out who is behind the first attack launched on Mia and the cause of James Lud's accident.” “Where are you?” I asked, knowing I don't do my shady business within the work environment. I had spies among the workers, so I was extremely careful not to get tracked. We met at our hangout spot. “So, who's responsible? Who has been after me?” I asked impatiently. He took out the item in the brown envelope he was
