Not my mate

Lucian’s pov

I am standing there stunned, watching Aurora and mum interacting with each other, laughing and joking. My mum embarrassed me and Aurora managing to get in a dig at me.

“I like her, I can’t believe it’s the same Aurora you wouldn’t let me play with when we were younger” Lee jokes

“I like her too, she’s fiesty. I can’t see her following your rules and doing what she is told this is going to be interesting” Shawn says

“Enough I can’t even remember her, and I want you all staying away from her” I warn them, lying about not remembering who she is. 

I remember being really upset when mum said we weren’t allowed to visit her anymore, and then eventually I forgot about her until now when she talked about it.

“You can’t stop me talking to my sister in law or are you going to ban mum as well? You are as bad as you were when we were kids” Lee laughs

“Shut the f***k up. It's got nothing to do with it, I just don’t want her feeling comfortable here” I say

“So nothing to do with her being your mate then” he taunts

“She is not my mate. She will never be my mate” I shout

“Oh well, you will have no problem with me getting closer to her, then it would be a shame for a beautiful woman like that to get lonely” Lee taunts

“Stay the f***k away from her. If you touch her, I will kill you” I roar

“yeah you keep telling yourself she’s not your mate. Maybe we will eventually believe it. Don’t worry, I am not interested in her that way, but I won’t be ignoring her I’m not an a.sshole like you” he says, patting me on the shoulder and walking into the house. 

Great thanks to my wolf, making me all possessive over Lee’s taunts has made me look interested in her 

“it wasn’t me who made you act like that” Luca snorts

“shut up. We don’t want her she doesn’t even have a wolf” I say back to him

“I’m not so sure there is something hidden, I want her regardless” he growls

“tough luck I’m not interested” I say, shutting him off 

“Not my monkeys, not my circus, I imagine Lisa will get herself involved, and I will be telling her the same thing” Fred says. 

Fred is the only one of us mated, and she happens to be my little cousin she will definitely be on Aurora’s side, great, I still need to deal with her.

I walk into the packhouse. Thankfully, Aurora is nowhere to be seen she has probably gone to her room to change, it’s not like she can walk around all day in a wedding dress. 

I go to my office to distract myself with work for the rest of the day. I work right up to meal time before Shawn knocks on the door to remind me of the time.

We walk into the dining room, and everyone is gossiping, wondering who Aurora is and why she is sitting with Mum. I can see most of the unmated males staring at her, not even bothering to hide it. 

I may not want her, but there is no way I want anyone else looking at her or touching her. Call me a hypocrite if you like, I don’t give a f***k.

She is wearing a smart sexy dress. No wonder they are all staring, I mean, she is covered up, but the way it clings to her shows off her hourglass figure to perfection. She is sitting chatting and laughing with Mum, Lisa, Lee, and Fred. 

Mum has put her in the Luna’s seat next to mine, causing more gossip among the pack. What the f***k do I do. I don’t know whether to make an announcement or to just ignore the fact she is here and let everyone come to their own conclusions. Yeah, that's for the best. Then I don’t have to explain myself or make her feel more welcome than she is.

I take my seat, ignoring the fact she is sitting there and start to eat, signalling to everyone that they can begin eating.

“Are you not saying anything to the pack” Mum asks

“No why would I” I say, sighing 

“Well everyone will be wondering about Aurora. You should be announcing her and setting the date for the Luna ceremony” she says 

“There will be no Luna ceremony, I did what you wanted and married her. I think the pack can work out who she is, I don’t need a Luna, now let me eat” I say, scowling at her

“Just ignore him dear, he will come round” Mum says, patting Aurora’s hand

“Don’t worry about me, it doesn’t bother me. I have never cared about being a Luna if he wants to do both jobs, let him. I don’t get easily upset” she reassures mum as I snort

“Yeah right as if, that’s why you married me for power” I sneer as she laughs at me

“Not everyone is power hungry, I couldn’t care less. I would happily leave tomorrow. It was a choice of torture and Zander losing out on Alpha and being placed in the dungeon or marrying you. I chose you for my brother. I will leave the first chance I get you aren’t exactly a catch. I am not exactly getting the warm fuzzy vibes coming from you” she spits out

I am so shocked with her confession that I don’t know what to say. The rest of them go quiet around the table, obviously shocked too. Thankfully, she kept her voice low enough so it didn’t travel past the table. 

“You expect us to believe that” I sneer no way her father would treat her like that.

“I don’t care if you believe me or not, you know nothing about me or my life” she calmly replies

“Shut up Lucian, you have no idea what that man is capable of” Mum angrily says to me

“Its her dad, she’s probably making things up because she’s upset with him, so she’s acting like a brat” I mock her

“I don’t need to justify myself to you or anyone, I’ve lost my apatite. I am away to my room” she says calmly, walking away with her head held high

“You are such an a.sshole Lucian, even if you don’t want her here, you don’t have to treat her like that she’s a nice girl” Lisa reprimands me before leaving too

“I am disappointed in you, son. I know you are not happy about all this, but I won’t condone this type of behaviour. I know I made you marry a girl who is not your mate but please if you can’t give this a chance at least be civil to her” she says sadly while I cringe, as she also walks away

“Oh you are in so much trouble when she finds out Aurora is your mate” Lee taunts 

“None of you will say a word to her about this to anyone” I warn them

They all agree to keep quiet about it but warn me that it’s bound to come out at some point, so I should come clean about it before it does.

I quickly finish eating and leave before anyone can stop me to ask any questions, I go straight to my room so no one can bother me.
