5| The Alpha is back

A werewolf with manners? Perhaps that title should be given to Rondolf Blackton. This man saved Rula. Of course, nothing is free in this world, Rula has to pay for it.

"Two weeks passed, and I thought we wouldn't meet again." Rula spoke while looking over. She confirmed that Rondolf was still there. "I thought you would give up after I rejected you."

Rondolf smiled crookedly. A cup of tea was served as if it insulted him. "I don't drink tea, Rula."

"That's why I brewed it for you." Rula smiled modestly. She sat down in front of Rondolf. "In human tradition, nobody wishes you to come," she explained.

Rondolf nodded understandingly. Rula's humiliation from the last moment back then was still imprinted in his memory, how Rula looked at himself in horror that night.

“I won't give up,” said Rondolf suddenly. He was so sure of his words. "You are my Luna."

This man is getting crazier.

Rula let out a long sigh. Apparently, rejection in any way will not change this man's stance. Rula believed that one of the reasons Rondolf was chosen to be an Alpha for her pack was because he had such a… annoying conviction, or what some freaks might call it an optimist.

“How to put it ….” Rula rubbed her fingers over her pointed chin, pretending to think. "I'm a prostitute?" She looked at Rondolf boldly. "The euphemism is I’m a whore."

Rondolf gave no reaction. The way he looked at Rula was still the same, sharp and full of precision. He didn't seem to care. Who was Rula? In fact, Luna should have been born as an untouchable holy woman.

It's messed up! Rondolf was insulted by Goddess Luna and Grimmwolf's shield crest prophecy.

"Luna should have been born with chastity, right?" she asked. She smiled again. "Everything is inversely proportional to me."

Rondolf smiled too. "You do research about us?"

“If skimming the tales of the werewolf and his luna counts as finding out ….” Rula nods once. "You can say that. I accidentally came across a story about a pack of werewolves like you.”

Rondolf smiled proudly. Luna loved him. That was the conclusion. “Where did you find our great story?’

Rula pointed in any direction, out the window of her house. “Skymane Shop.”

Rondolf frowned. He thought a large and sacred building had kept the eternal story of the Alpha's journey throughout the years.

“Children's fairy tale bookstore. Put it one kilometer from ….” Rula paused when she realized Rondolf was looking at her with those hideous eagle eyes.

She was mistaken. She shouldn't have said a children's story bookstore … maybe it's cooler just to call it a bookstore.

"Forgive me." Rula ended her sentence with a horse smile. "I didn't know that was insulting to you guys."

“Rula … Rongue is coming again.”

Rondolf became more serious. This man can not joke even just for a minute. Even just being quiet, he gave off such a powerful aura. Once he spoke, Rondolf was able to freeze the atmosphere.

"That creature?" Rula doesn't fully understand. She only remembered that her customers paid high bonuses before she gave up the body. Rula thought he was a rich man, not one of the werewolves.

Rondolf got up from his seat. Leaving behind a cup of tea that had cooled down, he chose to wander around the room.

"Rongue is a werewolf without a pack." Rondolf tried to explain. “Kyros is the most dangerous.”

Rula looked at him innocently. As if being taught a series of theoretical physics, Rula hates it. None of those words were easy for her stupid brain to digest.

“Unpacked werewolves means they are alone and come randomly to destroy pack after pack. Kyros did it,” Rondolf said again.

Rula sighed harshly. "Someone told him to do it."

Rondolf frowned. "What do you mean?"

"To be honest, out of nowhere, I heard a whisper that whispering to Kyros." Rula stood up. Approaching Rondolf. “It said … he has to kill me, the Alpha will give him a bonus and ….”

“Kyros is Rongue,” Rondolf answered with certainty. He grabbed Rula's shoulder. "He's not a pack."

Rulla shook her head. "I don't care, Rondolf." She removed Rondolf's grip from over her shoulder. "I don't want to be involved in your life. You're not human," she said curtly.

Before Rula could insult him again, Rondolf took over the conversation. "I will protect you Rula."

"I can protect myself, Rondolf."

Rondolf approached her. His muscular body was even able to block out the light, darkening Rula's vision to stare at Rondolf's handsome face.

“You can't do it. Kyros has found you, Therian was killed in front of me and I'm sure … something else will come,” he said confidently.

He grabbed Rula's shoulder again. "Come with me, I will protect you."

Turn switch. She avoided Rondolf as best she could.

"I will give the flower to you, as much as you want." Rondolf kept persuade her. “That can pay off your debt.”

Rula looked at him. She slowly smiled. "You find out about me?" she asked. "Wow! You are so persistent, The Alpha!” She taunted him with a light laugh.

Rondolf studied Rula even more closely. He just didn't want to lose his Luna. One thousand years before finally Goddest Luna gave birth to Luna mate for himself. Rondolf needed an heir to his throne. The new Alpha to defend Northwulf territory at least.

"We are meant to be together, Rula." Rondolf begged her. “So come with me. Marry me and I will repay all your debts.”

Rula swallowed her saliva. She only saw how Rondolf lived in the middle of the forest. A civilization that Rula never believed existed, but developed so well like ordinary human life. The forest hides many demons within it.

"I am not sure …."

“Just give birth to one heir for me, Rula.” Rondolf was a little pushy. "After that you can leave me." He shook his head. "I won't look for you anymore."

He is lying. Luna will continue to follow the story of The Alpha.

Rula turned her head away, her eyes blinking a few times. Rula did her best to convince herself, chase away Rondolf with another insults or accept his offer and change her life.

"I won't harm you, Rula." Rondolf convinced again.

Rula stared at him. She took a deep breath then. "Can I ask you something?" she asked. Rula didn't want to fall for Rondolf's charm just like that.

Honestly, this man has enough charm to attract women. Good looks, hot body and … rich are the most important.

Rondolf nodded.

"You asked me to marry and live together ... does that mean you love me?" she asked.

Rondolf was silent for a moment.

"Do you love me, Rondolf?"

What do you think this man will say? Could it be that he would lie with a nod of his head just to convince Rula? Not only lying to Rula but also to himself.

“I don't love you,” Rondolf answered confidently. He pointed at Rula's belly. "I need your womb."

Rula grinned sharply. “This man ... is quite unique.”

"You sell your body for money, Rula," Rondolf added again. “Then sell your womb to me. I'll buy it, whatever it is."
