Gwen turned to walk out of the pack house when she bumped into Grey. "Alpha," she shuddered. "I'm so sorry, alpha. I did not see you coming," she stuttered apologetically.

He waved her aside and was about to leave when he noticed the plate in her hand. "What are you holding?" He asked her.

"Oh," she exclaimed in realization. "The Luna wanted me to have a taste of the gumbo she prepared if it was fit to be served to the elders and everyone else," she explained with a bit of tremor in her voice.

"Let me have a look," Grey said to her, and she handed the plate to him. He took a little from it and tasted it. His eyes widened in surprise but he immediately masked it from Gwen. He handed the plate to her and turned to leave, but stopped, having a double thought. "Gwen?" He said.<
