Sunlight streamed from the open window, piercing my eyes. I turned my face and signed. I guess it was time to wake up , I groaned as I dragged myself up, resting my back against the bedpost .
Someone had taken their time to clean and bandaged my wounds, after the beating and Torture I endured from Zachary and his guards I was surprised to still be alive. I probably passed out, for how long I had no idea, as I had no recollection of being carried to this room. I looked around taking in my surroundings. The room was classy, the walls painted white, with a huge painting hanging above the fireplace, the curtains were green in color and open letting sunlight stream into the room . Zachary had told me he wasn’t gay,how the fuck did the rumor come about then. I killed someone. Of course working undercover came with a lot of challenges, but killing somebody? That was not my first time killing, but only in self defense. This was my first time killing someone so weak. I clenched my jaw tightly refusing to acknowledge what this would mean for me now. Anger coursed through my body, what the fuck was I going to do now. I didn’t know if Zachary believed me enough to let me go, and I was too weak to fight my way out even if I wanted to . There was no way I was giving up, so what if he wasn’t gay,I had to find another way to remain close to Zachary . Killing that man was a way to earn Zachary trust and also a way to remain on the inside. Now that I have killed for him albeit to save my own life , Zachary was not going to let me go easily now. Knocking on the door brought me out of my thinking. “Come in,”I said, clearing my throat as I wondered who it could be knowing Zachary won’t knock. A lady came in pushing a trolley with food and water . It’s surprising how at the sight of food, sudden hunger consumes me, reminding me of the fact that I had not eaten since the last time I left the club. “I thanked her.” she nodded before serving me. “What’s your name?”I asked, sensing an opportunity to know about where I was. “Maria, she answered.” “ I nodded my head. Is there anything more you will be needing?” she asked. “Yes, I said, she looked up,Hmm how long have I been here? ”I asked. “ I don’t know sir. I was only told to bring food to this room ”. I sighed, knowing I won’t be getting any information from her. Of course , Zach would make sure he sent someone without any knowledge of what’s going on. “ Is that all sir?" she asked, Yes you can go thanks for the food she nodded before leaving. As soon as the door closed I dove into the food . After eating,I stood up contemplating if I should remain inside my room or if I should step outside. It was obvious the door wasn’t locked, probably because Zachary knew I could not escape in this state. I wondered what his next action would be . Now he had something against me, and frankly speaking, why I was known throughout the force for going the extreme mile to get a job done, I wondered if this was something my boss was willing to look past. I walked out of my room and paused. I was standing in a long corridor filled with doors that lead to God knows where. I didn’t want to bring any more attention to myself, since I still didn’t have a proper plan.so as much as i would have liked to scoop out the place I went back inside my room. Zach would come find me when he needed me. For now I needed to rest, regain my strength and think of another plan. I was finally inside Zachary’s home after how long I had worked to be in here. I was not leaving without getting the information I needed. Waking up again, the curtains were closed, and my bandages had been changed. I frowned, wondering how deep I had been sleeping. To not be aware of someone coming into this room, talkmore about changing my bandages, I needed to be more alert. A tray of food was set on the table and a hanger containing different clothes was arranged. I frowned, wondering what the clothes were for. I stood up,walked to the table, sat down and started eating. The food was warm which meant it had been here for some time. After eating I checked out the clothes . Each of them were perfectly made with fine, expensive materials. A note was placed on my bedside table. I picked it up reading its contents. Apparently I was to dress in any of the clothes brought in and be ready by 8: 00. Someone was going to come pick and direct me to where I was supposed to be. What was Zachary playing at?. I was still too weak to be in the midst of my enemies . I could take out 2 or 3 guards at most in this condition but I know there would be more especially since it seems that Zachary had decided to host an event, even with the recent attack on one of his hideouts . It was 6:30 so I had an hour at the most to get ready and prepare myself for tonight. I took my bath even though it was a struggle with the bandages, brushed my teeth and dressed up . A knock on the door alerted me that it was time , I took a deep breath, looked at myself once more at the mirror before opening the door. Mason stood there, he looked handsome, he was wearing a blue tailored suit that fit him to perfection. I have not seen him since the attack at the first hideout . We nodded at ourselves in greeting before walking down the long corridor. I stopped walking, prompting Mason to stop and turn to me. “What's going on? ”I asked . Well if Zachary wasn’t gay at least I was sure mason was and I needed to use him to stay close to Zachary. He signed, Zach’s hosting some important people and he wants you to be there . “But why? ”I asked, I didn't understand why he would want me there at all. “Baby! I don’t know.” When it comes to you, Zachary doesn’t tell me anything. “I didn’t know if that was a good thing or not.” “Look, I know you are still injured and not really up for partying and stuff,” but you need Zach to trust you so just please cooperate. “I nodded, it was obvious Zachary has not told Mason what I said, am also sure he doesn’t know what went down in Zach’s torture room. “You trust me right ?” I asked, I needed to know my stand with Mason. It would be a bonus if I had him on my side. “I know it’s my fault you are in this predicament.” if I didn’t invite you to my table, you would not have been shot . I didn’t miss the fact that he had not answered my question directly. “I touched his arm , hey it’s not your fault I wanted to be with you, nobody could have predicted what would happen. and hopefully when I am all healed up, you make it up to me I said winking at him playfully. He laughed, before walking towards a big looking door. “Are you ready?" he asked.I nodded at him before he opened the door . Nothing could have prepared me for the sight before me. Everywhere is elegantly decorated, men and women elegantly dressed, waiters were walking around with trays of champagne glasses. One passed by and I stopped him collecting a glass for myself, I could feel all eyes on me. Exactly why would Zach want me at this party? I needed to be on my guard as I suspected something else was at play. Mingle but don’t drink too much, will be right back mason said before leaving me to my fate. I turned my head to the side, and there he was. Zachary, and my God he was breathtaking. How can one man be this handsome? He was putting on a white suit that fit him to perfection. His shirt opened up at the top and I could see his smooth chest . He had one hand in his pocket and the other a champagne glass talking to a beautiful lady. As if sensing my gaze, he turned his head towards me , our eyes staring intently at each other and for a moment there I couldn’t breathe.Tearing my eyes away from Zachary, I was mortified and angry that I had been intently checking out another man . Obviously, it was because I was angry that such a vile man was this handsome, nothing else . I walked around refusing to look back at Zachary . There were some familiar faces, business associates, some I recognize simply because their businesses are well known and talked about. I briefly wondered if they were aware of who Zachary was. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them were dealing illegally.I stopped another waiter, dropping my empty glass and taking another one. I needed enough alcohol to get through this . This was definitely not my kind of scene. Thankfully, due to my job, I had been to this kind of party so I knew what was to be expected. My eyes glanced around the room.refusing to acknowledge that I was searching for Zachary. I simply told myself it was more out of cautiousness rather than curiosity. I frowned when I didn’t see him anywhere around . Great, i

Now if there was one thing I took pride in,it should be the fact that I was logical. Being rash won’t get you far in this job, so with that in mind I raised my hands slowly, my eyes focused on the gun pointed straight between my eyes. I needed to be calm,I was not dying on the side of an unknown destination, albeit inside an expensive car I will never own. still!! 95/5 percent was the ranking of this job. Believe me the 5 percent success was a surprise to me but it was something and I was grabbing it with both hands.I let out a whimper biting my lips. “Who are you?" he asked.” “What? I replied, acting dumb. Was he seriously doing this now?.“Who are you and who sent you, dammit!”he shouted, taking the safety off to show he was serious. “Please!!!! Please!!! Don’t shoot, nobody sent me all this is just a big coincidence”.I answered adding a little stutter to my voice.“Where did you learn to shoot like that?”he asked.“My dad,he taught me from a young age please. He removed the g
Bright light filters through the open curtains . My eyelids burned from the light.I opened my eyes, blinking slowly as I took in my surroundings.Sitting up slowly,I could feel a dull ache at my chest, an iv drip connected to my hand.I am surprised that the pain I expected was not there, which made me question exactly how long I have been here. I looked around.Mason is sitting at my side, typing on his phone. “What happened, I asked? ”My voice coming out soft and meek , clearing my throat, " I asked again.Mason's head snapped up, he dropped his phone before rushing towards me. asking me to lie back down. “It really is a miracle”. “I was lucky the bullet had narrowly missed my heart. He said,” before excusing himself to make a call.Suddenly!!Everything rushed back to me. Fuck, I could have died. Why do I put myself in this kind of situation?.I searched for the revolver I had kept at my back .shit ! Shit! It wasn’t there. Raising my hand, I realized my hands were cuffed to the
Baby !! baby!! baby!! The crowd chanted as I swirled on the pole . I smiled, loving the high that came with this job. I swirled once more, landing with my signature split before slowly standing up. The crowd cheered higher, dollar bills raining down on me while my eyes searched the crowd looking for my target for tonight. I could see him at the vip section discussing business with his business associates.I bowed my head, before finally leaving the stage annoyed that he wasn’t even looking at me . I smiled at the men trying to grab my butt as I walked to my changing room. Since plan A didn’t work, I had to work out my next plan. I stripped out of the tight fishnet I had been putting on, before laying on the bed. The owner, David, has given me a small changing room with a bed and my dresser. Most of us here had the same setting, somewhere to relax after dancing before mingling with the crowd.I have worked hard to be here , worked hard so my name was recognized, worked hard so he c
