BROOKS.

The closer I crept down the hall, the clearer the voices became. Sharp edges cutting through the thick silence of the mansion.

They were coming from Stephan’s room.

I shouldn’t. I knew I shouldn’t. But my feet carried me anyway, slow and quiet until I was right outside the door, my back pressing against the wall.

“…what the fuck were you thinking, Venita?” Stephan’s voice was sharp, furious. I have heard him angry before but I have never heard him quite like this.

“Don’t start with me,” Venita’s reply came quickly, haughty. “It’s my wedding too, Stephan, and I refuse to be embarrassed with anything less than perfection.”

“You charged fifty grand to my card.” Stephan’s tone was lethal, each word heavy. “For flowers. Flowers, Venita. They’ll be dead before the reception’s over.”

I clamped a hand over my mouth, eyes widening.

Fifty grand?

“You’re exaggerating,” Venita scoffed dismissively. “And besides, we’re rich, Stephan. Or have you forgotten? Money isn’t an issue for us.”

  • MATED TO HER ALPHA STEPBROTHERS   110

ZADEBrooks lay curled against me, her body warm, soft, still trembling faintly from everything we just did. Her breathing had evened out, lashes resting against her cheeks, and I could tell she was slipping deeper into sleep. But I couldn’t.My eyes stayed fixed on the ceiling, my chest still heaved with the weight of her; her body, her confession, her tears, her trust. And yet, all I could hear was my mother’s voice. Natasha’s venom, dripping like acid through the back of my mind, recounting to me how Brooks was nothing more than a sacrifice.I tightened my hold on Brooks instinctively, dragging her closer against me, like my arms alone could shield her from everything waiting outside these walls. I couldn’t betray her. I wouldn’t. But my mother wasn’t the kind of woman who let go. She wouldn’t stop. And for the first time, I understood what it meant to be afraid. Not for myself, but for Brooks.I pressed my lips into her hair, inhaling the faint scent of her still clinging to m

BROOKSZade didn’t let up. He buried his mouth deeper, groaning into me like he’d been starving, like I was the only thing that could keep him alive. His head shook side to side, his nose dragging hard against my folds until I was convulsing beneath him. The filthy sounds of him feasting on me filled the room, obscene and wet.“God, you taste so good,” he growled against me before diving back in, his tongue fucking me, licking me open, then circling my clit with maddening precision. With a cry, my hands clawed at his hair, yanking him closer. But every time I tried to move, he pinned me down harder, his big hands gripping my thighs, holding me wide open for his mouth. And he never broke eye contact. Those dark, wild eyes locked on mine while he devoured me like it was his sole purpose on earth.“Zade, please. I can’t—” I sobbed, shaking, my body wound so tight I thought I’d snap in half.He only moaned in response, sucking my clit into his mouth so hard I screamed. My back bowed, my

BROOKSIt wasn’t rushed or sloppy. It was slow, consuming, open-mouthed, his tongue sweeping against mine, tugging and teasing. I kissed him back with everything inside me, matching him, pulling him closer, losing myself in the heat of his mouth. My fingers slid into his hair and fisted tight, tugging. The sound that rumbled from his chest; low, rough, approving, made my toes curl.I climbed into his lap, straddling him. I felt him harden against me, thick and straining, and it only made me kiss him harder. His hands roamed up my back, down my sides, gripping my hips like he couldn’t get enough. Every place he touched set fire to my skin. When he finally pulled back, his breathing was harsh, his lips red and wet from me. His eyes searched my face, dark and stormy, as if he was fighting himself.“Are you sure?” he asked again, voice rough.“Yes,” I whispered. His jaw tightened, like my answer unraveled something in him. And then he was moving, scooping me up into his arms like I we

BROOKSWe arrived at Zade’s condo, and he carried me to the sofa, sitting me down. He moved around the apartment, the soft sound of his footsteps reminding me that he was still here, still present. Always present.I tried not to let my mind wander, but the past hours kept replaying in my head, the attack, the fear, Zade showing up just in time, and the strange feeling of relief I felt in his arms. Zade returned a moment later, holding the first aid kit in his hands. His expression was focused, a little distant, as if trying to block out whatever emotions were rattling around inside him. He knelt in front of me, setting the kit on the floor before he looked up at me.“This might hurt but I need you to hold still for me, okay?” he said softly, his voice surprisingly gentle. I wasn’t sure what to say so I just nodded.Zade gently parted my legs so that he could kneel in between them, his hands shaking ever so slightly as he began to tend to the cuts and bruises on knee.My mind drif

BROOKSThe fallout from the wedding cancellation was everywhere like wildfire, unstoppable, consuming everything in its path. Every news station, every blog, every social media outlet was abuzz with the scandal. On the surface, the official story was simple: “unforeseen personal reasons” had derailed the much-anticipated wedding between Stephan Romano and Venita White. But in the supernatural world? The whispers told a different story.Stephan Romano, the heir to the Romano throne, the once-coveted bachelor, was bonded to his stepsister. A bond that broke every rule, every taboo, every boundary. A bond so vile that it stained the Romano name beyond repair. And the worst part? I was at the center of it all. The girl who was never meant to be more than a footnote in their family’s history was suddenly the headline.Everywhere I went, there were eyes. Whispers. Judgement. People I didn’t even know stared at me with contempt, curiosity, or a combination of both. Heck, I even got sever

ZADEAfter Stephan stormed out, the silence that followed felt heavier than the fight itself. Blood, sweat, and betrayal hung in the air like a storm cloud. My chest was a furnace. I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. All I knew was that I needed to get out of that room before I lost what little control I had left.“I need to go,” I whispered, more to myself than anyone else. My voice was hoarse, ragged.I turned for the door, but footsteps scrambled behind me.“Zade, wait.” Brooks’ voice cracked. Desperate.I froze. Every instinct screamed to keep walking, but my body betrayed me, my wolf tethered to the sound of her voice. Slowly, I turned. She stood there, clutching the sheets to her chest, her eyes red and wet. “Please… just let us talk. Please.”I clenched my jaw. My hands curled into fists at my sides, the need to both hold her and destroy her twisting me apart. “Fine,” I said, my tone sharp enough to cut glass. “Let’s talk.”The words burned coming out.Her lips trembled as
