AN UNLIKELY ENEMY

SALVADOR'S POV

I had to admit that Alpha Demontes was a smart man. He had gotten me in his trap and I knew it quite well.

As soon as I confessed to killing Graham's innocent family, a murmur went up amongst the council of Alphas. It was forbidden to kill an innocent, worse still when the person was a wolf in your own pack. The punishment for the crime was death.

I waited to hear their verdict. With my guards patiently waiting at every corner of the dining, I knew that none of them would be bold enough to pass the verdict that I rightly deserved.

"I didn't kill his family in cold blood," I announced. "I was trying to get some information from him and he refused to spill. My men and I had to result to torture."

"Why didn't you torture the criminal then?" Alpha Demontes asked, showing no empathy at all for the very person he had put in the mess.

"I would have," I nodded. "I did infact. But he was too loyal to his cause. He was ready to give up his own life to withhold information from
