CHAPTER 22

Sonia's POV

I screamed for help at the top of my lungs, my voice hoarse from the constant yelling. But no one came. No one was there to save me. I was alone, dangling in mid-air, my life flashing before my eyes.

Tears streamed down my face as I thought about all my dreams, all my aspirations. I was supposed to be an Alpha, a leader, a strong and powerful one at that. But now, I was nothing but a helpless, useless prisoner, about to meet my demise.

I couldn't give up, though. I refused to accept that this was the end. So I kept screaming, kept calling out for someone, anyone, to come and rescue me.

Before I knew it, my hand slipped, and I felt myself falling, my heart racing with fear. I was going to die. I was going to fall to my death, and no one would ever know what happened to me.

Just as all hope seems lost, my dress caught on a nearby tree branch, suspending me in mid-air. I hung there, my breath coming in short gasps.
