TIMID. Lacking courage or confidence. Noah Black was the definition of timid despite being a fourth year resident of the department of psychiatry. His cute brown eyes had often times avoided making contact with Anna’s hazel ones, especially when she had directed a question at him during their department meetings.
The whole Psychiatry department had a total of six residents; five males and one female. Anna had three males assigned to her, Noah being one of them.
“How’s granny Ann’s condition?” Anna asks Noah for the second time with a small smile playing on her lips. She was seated at the farthest corner of the room that had the presence of her fellow professors and residents. They were to give feedbacks on their patients well-being and Granny Ann just happened to be one of her in-patients who was diagnosed with Alcohol addiction.
“She’s complaining of being nauseous and having little appetite,” Noah replies, his ey
CLUMSINESS. Awkward, lacking coordination, not graceful, not dexterous. Anna Davenport had often tried to be cool and collected, especially whenever she found herself amongst people, but as her clumsiness would always have it, she had just shown that in front of two of her residents.Anna had invited Ruby and Noah over to her place to discuss plans for their presentation and also to give them a few pointers in relation to their thesis. As they had started working on the project, she decided to head to her kitchen and grab a few snacks just to keep their mouths busy but her face is drowned in disappointment when she remembers how empty her fridge was.“Anything you need help with?” Ruby raises his tone a little bit from the living room when he hears little movements of utensils from the kitchen.“I’m good for now!” Anna replies but she knew deep down that she was far from being good. Her fridge was empty and she couldn't
DEPRESSION. In psychotherapy and psychiatry, a period of unhappiness or low morale which lasts longer than several weeks and may include ideation of self-inflicted injury or suicide. Everyone is a patient but just doesn't know their sickness. It could be physical or mental but no one is a hundred percent healthy because of the toxic nature of life. Anna stared at the hospital's homepage from the desktop on the corner of her table. It had become a habit of hers to check the homepage every day just to keep herself updated and today the update she had gotten was on the death of one of the hospital’s ICU nurses. Apparently, she had been suffering from depression and ended up taking her life. Due to the attention the case was getting, the board of directors must have come up with the solution they considered best for the hospital. And that was official
ABANDON. To desist in doing, practicing. To forsake despite a duty or responsibility. Dylan had specifically requested his therapy sessions be with Anna Davenport but couldn’t hold his anger at the notice that he had been reassigned to a different doctor. Who the hell gave the fuck about someone bearing Lucas? He had been abandoned all his life. His parents never acknowledged his existence as he was always one step behind Liam. Now Anna had done the same thing to him and it was making him lose his mind. Was she looking down on him? Dylan had always hated being rejected, so whatever situation he found himself in, he tried his best to be in control. But with Anna Davenport, she just never succumbed and it irked his guts. She had hurt him by rejecting him, but most importantly, she left him angry and he desperately wanted to see her. No Doctor should ever give up on their patient.Angrily, he strides out of his office at a fast pace, his blood boiling a
CONFIDENCE. Self-assurance. A feeling of certainty, firm trust or belief. A lot of people are confident about some particular aspects of their lives. For some, it could be in their fashion taste and others in their appearance. It could also be in a particular skill they possess but there's always one thing people are often confident about in their lives as it serves as their strength. For Anna Davenport, dressed in her white coat gave her all the confidence she needed whenever she strolled through the hospital's hallways."This doesn't feel right," Anna muttered under her breath as she stares at the figure directly in front of her. The figure has a red strapless cross-back gown that hugged her body tightly on, a long slit on the right side of her leg, showing off well-toned yet pale skin. The make-up the figure had on complimented the dress as there were dark shadows around the eyes, highlighting the hazel eyes and the red lipstick on her plump lips seem
BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER. A mental disorder characterized by unstable moods, behavior, and relationships. Symptoms could include feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, emotional instability, and impulsiveness. One moment you feel as though you're in love with someone and want to spend the rest of your life with them but in the next, you just want to push them away cause you’re sure they’re going to leave. Such instability was what Dylan's Relationship with Hannah had to survive through but she never once considered leaving him.Till the accident.Hannah had known about his personality issues as they had met during group therapy. She was suffering from anxiety, stress, and depression as a result of the nature of her job. She was a journalist and had sometimes gotten death threats
TERROR. Intense dread, fright, or fear. A specific instance of being intensely terrified. Memories of the accident were the perfect definition of terror for Dylan Blake. It always felt like he was reliving the moment his car crashed against another and his mind never stopped playing the look of dread in Hannah’s expression as she stared at him. Most importantly, he was terrified of making eye contact with those emerald eyes and knowing there was nothing he could have done to save her. If only his heart hadn’t acted up that night, she might still be next to him. “Hannah,” As the name silently escapes from Dylan’s mouth, his eyes slightly open and the first thing that comes to sight is the plain white ceiling of his bedroom. He releases a nervous breath and could feel a cold streak of sweat slide down his face and his back as his white t-shirt sticks to his broad torso.
REGRET. To feel sorry for a thing that has or has not happened. Anna had regrets from the moment she had set eyes on Amaya Rawlins at the emergency room looking so lifeless and full of hatred. She hadn’t met with her since their last therapy session that Dylan had messed up and just staring at her once again reignited the anger Anna had felt from the first time she had seen her. Anna majorly felt regretful at the fact that Amaya was here with a traumatized expression and sores all over her body while her perpetrators were living a good life because they were well connected.Screw the law.“Does your skin feel less irritating to you these days?” Anna asks while staring at those grey eyes across from hers with utmost concern.Amaya’s
EUPHORIA. A feeling or state of intense happiness or excitement. Most people experience some kind of euphoria while on the dance floor in a club. The loud music vibrating through the whole room and your body swaying to the beat just leaves you high and happy, while zoning out the world and being lost in the moment.“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Dylan asks while walking behind Anna as they both enter the club. Disco lights swiveled around the room and for some unknown reason, there were few people on the dance floor.“Any reason why you think it’s not?” Anna questions while her eyes search for a particular face amidst the crowd.“Just get this over with,” He says as they get settled at the central bar where a tall guy with dirty blonde hair and sleevel
