Samuel immediately dragged Nora's arm with hurried steps down the stairs of Rebecca's apartment. His eyes were sharp, his jaw hardened with emotion.

"Samuel, it hurts. Let go of me. Why are you being rude to me?"

"Shut up, Nora!" he said coldly when Nora tried to speak.

"But Samuel, my hand-"

"I said shut up, Nora."

His hand kept gripping Nora's arm, hard but without hurting her. Once in the parking lot, Samuel released his grip, then walked a few steps away, standing with his back to Nora. He looked down, taking a long, deep breath as if to swallow all the morning's chaos.

There was a moment of silence. Then, slowly, Samuel turned around. His face looked tired, but his gaze was serious. He stepped slowly towards Nora, and touched her shoulder.

"Nora," he said quietly but firmly. "We need to talk. It might hurt you."
