Rebecca Cathy Castillo never thought her marriage to the cold, young CEO Samuel Wilson was just a game of hearts. When she found out she was pregnant, she discovered the harsh reality that her husband was having an affair with Nora Arianna, Samuel's ex-girlfriend. Feeling like a mere substitute, Rebecca chose divorce and then left. Five years passed. Rebecca returned with a son, the result of the love she once kept close. Her arrival surprised Samuel, her ex-husband, who apparently never stopped looking for her. "Mr. CEO, your wife is back!"

Samuel turned his body slowly. His eyes stared intently at the middle-aged woman standing in the doorway of the dressing room. The woman's face looked pale, her breathing ragged. Mrs. Alice, the mother of the bride-to-be—his mother-in-law.
"What do you mean, Auntie?" Samuel's voice was hoarse. "Are you kidding? There's no way Nora would run away on the wedding day."
Mrs. Alice closed her eyes for a moment. Her hands squeezed her dress. "I'm not joking, Samuel. Nora is not in the bridal suite. Auntie has looked everywhere. She didn't even have her cell phone with her."
Samuel fell silent. His throat constricted. This slap was too hard. All the media were standing outside. The big businessmen, the commissioners, the whole family. They had gathered to witness Samuel and Nora's wedding.
"Why did Nora leave? She's already embarrassed me," Samuel finally spoke up. His jaw hardened. "I can't believe she would do that to me."
Mrs. Alice looked deeply at Samuel. "Auntie doesn't believe it either. But now is not the time to discuss Nora. We have to do something for the good name of the family."
Samuel was silent; he was really very angry. His hands were clenched into fists, and his breathing was ragged.
Soon, the door creaked softly. Rebecca appeared. "Sorry... what's wrong, Auntie? Why did you call me here?"
Alice's mother looked at Rebecca. "How about you take Nora's place?"
"Wh-what?" Rebecca glared in disbelief. "I have to replace Nora? What does Auntie mean?"
"Nora ran away. We have no choice," Mrs. Alice cut in firmly. "The ceremony has already been prepared. The Wilson family is here. If this news leaks to the media, it will ruin the Wilson family's reputation and Nora's good name, Rebecca."
"But... I can't, Auntie," Rebecca whispered. "How could I possibly replace Nora as the bride?"
"Rebecca, Auntie is begging you." Mrs. Alice stepped closer, looking at Rebecca with an expectant expression.
Rebecca looked at Samuel. The man stood frozen. His gaze was sharp but blank. It was as if his mind was still trying to digest the harsh reality he had just received.
"I cannot decide unilaterally," Rebecca's voice was barely audible. "What about Mr. Samuel? Does he agree to me being his bride?"
Samuel sighed loudly, then walked over. His gaze was piercing, his face expressionless.
"If this is the only way to save Wilson's good name..." he said coldly. "Then there is no other way but to make you the bride."
Rebecca looked down. Her heart was pounding.
"Oh, all right," she replied quietly.
Samuel turned around, his hands clenched into fists.
"Help her put on the wedding dress," he ordered a dresser. "And make sure her face is covered so that no one knows who the bride is. No one should realize that the bride is Rebecca, not Nora."
"Yes, Mr. Samuel."
Then, he looked at Rebecca one more time, an unpredictable look—between anger, disappointment, and freezing cold.
"You are not the bride I want," he said flatly. "So don't ever dream of being my wife."
The words were piercing, but Rebecca just looked down. She knew she was only a substitute.
"Yes, Mr. Samuel."

After the wedding ceremony was over, Samuel took Rebecca to his luxurious apartment.
Arriving at the door, one of the servants bowed. "Welcome, young master. Welcome—"
Samuel interrupted immediately. "Prepare the guest room."
The servant was confused. "Maat, whose room is it, Young Master? Is it for—"
"Yes, for the lady standing next to me! Quick, just do it," Samuel cut in.
Rebecca followed Samuel in without saying anything.
Then, Samuel turned around. "Never call yourself Mrs. Wilson. In the office, you are still my secretary. You must keep that a secret."
Rebecca nodded. "I understand, Mr. Samuel."
"Remember, you must not expect more." Samuel leaned closer. "Never dream. I will find Nora. Once Nora returns, I will divorce you."
Rebecca looked at him. "I never expected anything, Mr. Samuel. I was only carrying out Aunt Alice's request."
Samuel was silent for a moment, then turned and walked away, leaving Rebecca standing. Rebecca stared at the back of the man who was now legally and religiously her husband, but he clearly did not consider her his wife.
Inwardly, she could only mutter softly, "I'm just a substitute. I know that. But shouldn't I hope? If only he knew that I was the one who—" Rebecca squeezed her wedding dress tightly, her tears flowing freely.
The evening sky began to turn red as Samuel sat in his office. The desk full of documents did nothing to calm his mind. Instead, it grew more chaotic. Only one thing filled his thoughts: Aric and Ellya’s engagement party, just one week away.Samuel gripped his phone, then pressed the speed dial. Not long after, a deep voice came through.“Yes, Sir?” The voice belonged to Bani, his most loyal assistant as well as a reliable right hand.Samuel stared blankly out the window, then spoke in a low yet firm voice. “Bani, I have a task for you. Something that must not fail. Understand?”“Always, Sir. What must I do?”Samuel let out a long breath, then spoke softly, as if weighing his words. “You have to kidnap Aric.”There was silence for a moment on the other end of the line. Bani was clearly shocked, though he quickly hid it. “Kidnap… Aric, Sir?”“Yes.” Samuel gritted his teeth. “By any means necessary. Use Wilson’s connections. Leave no trace. I don’t want a single person to suspect our in
The gentle breeze blew softly, swaying the leaves in the quiet park. Rebecca was still leaning on Samuel’s shoulder, her fingers playing with the diamond necklace that now hung gracefully around her neck. Her gaze was wistful, piercing far into the blue sky.“How is my company, Samuel? Castillo Group?” she asked softly, as if hesitant yet at the same time hopeful.Samuel looked down at her, then stroked Rebecca’s hair gently. “Don’t worry, my love. So far, Castillo Group remains stable. Kevin is still managing everything. He’s very responsible, and until now… he has never disappointed me.”Rebecca’s eyes immediately sparkled. She let out a relieved sigh, then looked at Samuel with gratitude. “Kevin… he’s always someone I can rely on. I was afraid that after I… no longer in my body, everything would fall apart.”Samuel held her hand tightly. “Don’t worry. Everything is fine. Kevin knows exactly what to do. Castillo Group continues to run. That is your legacy, Rebecca. I will never let
Samuel’s car moved at a moderate speed, leaving the crowded city streets behind and heading toward the outskirts. Rebecca, who was sitting in the passenger seat, glanced around several times with a puzzled look on her face. She knew Samuel rarely took her to places without a reason.“Samuel,” Rebecca finally spoke, breaking the silence between them. “Where are you taking me?”Samuel only glanced at her briefly, then gave a faint smile. “Patience. You’ll know soon.”Rebecca sighed softly and leaned her head back against the seat. Her heart felt happy just being with Samuel again, even if only for a moment. After nearly half an hour of driving, the car finally stopped at a small hidden park. The place was far from the city center, surrounded by lush trees. Not many people came there, especially on weekdays like this.Rebecca looked out the window, her forehead slightly furrowed. “This park is so deserted.”Samuel turned off the engine, then looked at her with a warm smile. “That’s why I
A few days had passed since Rebecca was allowed to leave the hospital. Her condition had truly improved. Her face looked fresh, her body stronger, and her spirit had returned as before. She stood in front of the bedroom mirror, tidying her neatly flowing hair. A faint smile curved on her lips, gratitude filling her heart for being able to return to her usual routine.“Ellya, come on! Don’t be late,” Aric’s voice called from outside the door.Rebecca took a deep breath, then picked up her bag. She opened the door with a polite smile. “I’m ready, Aric.”Aric looked at her with a relieved gaze. “Thank goodness. You look so much healthier. See, your face is glowing again. I’m really happy to see you like this.”Rebecca only nodded softly. “Thank you, Aric. You’ve taken care of me a lot.”As usual, Aric drove her to campus. That morning’s trip felt short, though Rebecca remained mostly silent. She stared out the window, hiding the turmoil in her thoughts. There was something she was waitin
The hospital corridor that morning felt brighter than usual. Fresh air drifted in through a slightly open window. Nurses bustled about pushing medicine trolleys, and doctors made their routine rounds. In Reno’s VIP room, the atmosphere was different. The little boy sat on the edge of the bed with a wide smile, his face glowing with happiness. The news he had been waiting for had finally arrived—he was allowed to go home.“Daddy!” Reno called out excitedly when Samuel walked in. “Reno can go home now, right?”Samuel smiled, patting his son’s head. “Yes, son. The doctor said your condition is stable. You can go home today, as long as you promise not to be naughty and to keep taking your medicine.”Reno nodded quickly. “Reno promises! Reno is strong too, Daddy. Reno can take care of himself.”Samuel looked at that innocent face for a long moment, then gave a faint smile. But behind his smile lay a heavy weight. He knew this child c
The door to the room was still locked from the inside. Samuel stood so close, his face only inches from Ellya’s. His warm breath brushed against her cheek, making the atmosphere inside the room grow more tense.Ellya continued to gaze at him with sparkling eyes, as if unwilling to let go. And before Samuel could take a step away, Ellya tugged at the edge of his jacket.“Samuel…” her voice was soft, full of pleading. The man turned, his brows slightly furrowed. “What now?”Ellya gave a faint smile, then suddenly wrapped her arms around Samuel’s neck. She pulled her husband’s face down, and her lips pressed once again against his. This kiss was deeper, gentler, yet filled with possession.Samuel let out a muffled groan, about to push her away, but his body froze. His hand lifted, almost returning the embrace. Yet he remembered—this body was not Rebecca’s true body. He restrained himself.Ellya didn’t stop. After satisfying her
