Aaron’s POV:

Marshal: “Oh son, you can just call me father-in-law.”

He beamed at me like I’d just handed him a winning lottery ticket. I half expected him to be furious seeing me crashed on his expensive couch, but nope—he looked damn pleased.

Me: “Oh… uh, Father-in-law. Good morning.”

Marshal: “That’s right! Good morning, son. How are you?”

Me: “I’m… I’m good, sir. Uh—”

Marshal: “Since you’re here, I assume you and my daughter are already getting to know each other better?”

That huge smile again. God, this guy really wanted to believe we were some fairytale couple.

I wanted to tell him the truth—that his daughter got drunk at a club and I was forced to play babysitter. That she was the reason I spent half my high school years being miserable. That I was only here because his brilliant idea of forcing us together left me no damn choice.

But instead, I took a deep breath and forced a smile.

Me: “Yes… uhm… we went on a date last night. She had a little too much champagne—uh, I did too—so I brought her home. I honestly don’t even remember falling asleep here.”

I hoped my stammering didn’t make it obvious I was lying through my teeth. But with how Marshal’s grin widened, I figured I must’ve said exactly what he wanted to hear.

Marshal: “Oh, very gentlemanly of you. My daughter’s always had a thing for alcohol. Hopefully, now that you’ll be together, she’ll start cutting back.”

Yeah. Good luck with that.

Marshal: “So tell me, how was the date? What do you think of Nessa?”

I froze for half a second. Was he serious?

Everything I wanted to say—the years of torment, the smug smirks, the way her voice still grated on my nerves—was right on the tip of my tongue.

But I couldn’t say any of that.

I took another breath, plastered on another fake smile, and lied through my damn teeth.

Me: “She’s… she’s really a beautiful young lady. Uhm, I don’t know if you know this, but we actually knew each other back in high school. We were… close. So, uh, it wasn’t hard to connect on the date. She’s funny, smart… sharp-tongued, but I find it kind of cute. The whole night was really great, we just… talked about everything and anything.”

I forced myself to look up, expecting skepticism. Instead, Marshal’s face practically glowed.

And that’s when the devil herself walked in.

Nessa: “You know, I didn’t realize you thought so highly of me and our ‘date.’”

That tone. That smirk. I almost rolled my eyes, but I caught myself.

I turned to her—fresh out of the shower, wrapped in a white robe, smelling like vanilla. It was almost too innocent, especially knowing the menace underneath.

Marshal: “My baby girl!”

Nessa: “My pops!”

The two of them hugged like a scene straight out of a cheesy family sitcom. It was so sickeningly sweet, I almost gagged.

How the hell did this man raise her?

Marshal: “So, sweetheart, Aaron was just telling me how great your date was! What do you think?”

Nessa shot me a quick glare before her expression flipped into a sugary-sweet smile.

Nessa: “Oh, Pops, it was amazing! We had so much fun. You know, back in high school, we were the best of friends.”

My jaw clenched. Best of friends my ass.

Nessa: “He was such a bookworm—always getting bullied, poor thing. And guess what? I was his princess in shining white gown. I always saved him whenever those mean bullies tried to pick on him. He used to run behind me like a scaredy-cat, and I’d be there to save the day! Isn’t that right, nerd? Oh—sorry, I mean Aaron?”

She batted her eyelashes at me. Smiling like she wasn’t completely full of shit.

Two could play that game.

Me: “Of course! You know, I never understood why I was bullied so much. I was just a young, small kid trying to keep his scholarship, studying hard. But for some reason, certain people made my life a living hell every single day.”

I stared at her. She stared back.

The tension stretched until—

Nessa: “Right? Bullies are just so crazy.”

Marshal cleared his throat, clearly oblivious to the war happening between us.

Marshal: “I can see you two go way back and agree on so much! This is wonderful. See, Nessa? I told you my matchmaking skills were perfect. Look at you, smiling from ear to ear now, huh?”

Nessa let out the fakest laugh I’d ever heard.

Nessa: “That’s right, Pops. It’s like a match made in heaven, isn’t it, Aaron?”

She grinned at me.

I fought every instinct to roll my eyes.

Me: “It sure is, Nessa.”

Marshal: “You know what? This calls for a celebration. Aaron, why don’t you freshen up? There are guest rooms upstairs, and you can borrow some clothes from my wardrobe. Then, we’ll all have breakfast together.”

Oh great. More quality time with Nessa.

Nessa: “Come on, Aaron.”

She grabbed my wrist, yanking me upstairs. The second we were out of her dad’s sight, she dropped my hand, wiping her robe like she’d touched something filthy.

Nessa: “Ew. Lord. How long do I have to put up with this?”

I rolled my eyes and followed silently as she led me to a guest room. It was ridiculously luxurious—like a damn five-star hotel suite.

Nessa: “Are you gonna go in or just stand there gawking?”

I walked in, still taking it in.

Nessa: “You played your cards right today, nerd. Keep it up, and this will be over before we know it. He already likes you, so this should be easy.”

Me: “Cool.”

Nessa: “At breakfast, we’re madly in love. Obsessed with each other. Got it?”

Pretend to be in love with the one person I despise? Easy.

Me: “Sure, Nessa.”

She smirked. That smirk.

Nessa: “We’ll see.”

And with that, she walked off.

I slumped onto the bed. One day and a half with Nessa, and I could already feel my brain cells dying. And this was supposed to last a year?

Lord help me.

  • MRS BAD AND MR INNOCENT    Breakfast with the stevens

Aaron’s POV..I stepped out of the bathroom feeling like a new man. Bathing just hit different when you were in an expensive-looking bathroom. The three-way shower? Absolute heaven. I could live in there.I spotted a neatly folded grey jogger and a white T-shirt on the bed. For a second, I forgot billionaires actually wore normal clothes. I always thought they lived in suits, but I guess TV had been lying to me. The joggers fit perfectly, and while the shirt was slightly big, it was comfortable enough.I grabbed my phone and saw a few texts from my mom:Mom: Are you coming home for breakfast?Mom: If you’re with Justin, bring him along!Of course, she thought I spent the night at Justin’s dorm. That was the only reasonable explanation for why I didn’t come home. Either that or I was locked up in a library somewhere, studying like my life depended on it. I quickly typed back a lie, saying I had already eaten and was heading to a morning class. If I told her my real location, my phone

  • MRS BAD AND MR INNOCENT    Father inlaw

Nessa’s POV..Me: “Mm, you look so good on your knees.”I had no idea why I blurted that out, but I did. And I wasn’t lying. He did look good on his knees.Aaron had always been small, which made him easy to bully back in high school. Even now, with a bit more muscle on him, he still had that delicate, almost boyish frame. And his face? It didn’t help. Big, round eyes, a small nose, chubby cheeks, and soft lips—he still looked like a damn teenager. And me? I had a kink. One I had buried so deep I convinced myself it didn’t exist. A small, submissive man, kneeling, doing whatever I wanted. Begging. Yearning. And here I was, staring at one in real life, and suddenly, I realized… I hadn’t buried it deep enough. We locked eyes.I could tell I had thrown him off, and for some reason, that made me smirk. But the moment stretched too long, and a sharp headache pulled me back to reality. I let my head fall back against the couch, shutting my eyes as the moment faded.Aaron scrambled to his

I parked in front of the club, music blasting so loud I could feel the bass in my chest. I pulled out my phone and called her, but it just rang and rang. No answer.I sighed. Of course.Bracing myself for whatever fresh hell awaited me inside, I pushed open the car door and stepped out. The entrance was surprisingly empty—no security, no bouncers—just an ominous glow of neon lights welcoming me into what was probably a terrible decision.Inside, the air was thick with sweat, alcohol, and desperation. Strippers twisted around poles, and a few scattered dancers swayed to the music, but the club was nowhere near as packed as I’d imagined. The second I stepped in, people stared. Some with amusement, others with disgust.I ignored them. My eyes scanned the room, but there was no sign of her. Then I spotted a door marked "VVIP SECTION" at the far end. No security there either. I pushed it open and peeked inside. And there she was.Sprawled in a red velvet chair, head tilted back, an empty b

“You have to be kidding me! No, this has to be a joke.”Sam practically choked on his laughter, gripping his beer like it was the only thing keeping him upright. We’ve been best friends since childhood—our parents were high school friends, and somehow, the friendship passed down to us like some sort of weird inheritance. Through every phase of life, Sam was the one person who never bailed on me, even when it meant getting bullied alongside me. Unlike me, though, Sam had the whole package: book smart, tall, muscular, and blessed with rich chocolate skin that made people do double takes.Meanwhile, I was… me.Even though we didn’t end up at the same college, we always found time to catch up. And right now? I needed this. I needed to vent, to process the complete circus that my life had become.“Nessa? Nessa Stevens?” Sam wheezed between laughs. “The high school demon? Bro, where’s the hidden camera? You cannot convince me this isn’t a prank!”I ran a frustrated hand through my hair, tak

"I can't do this," I muttered, standing upI was done. This was a mistake."Sit."Her voice was sharp, commanding. And just like that, I was back in high school—back to being the insecure kid she used to torment. That boy I thought I had buried years ago suddenly clawed his way to the surface, shrinking under her gaze.I had convinced myself that I had changed. That I had grown. That I had become someone who wouldn't be affected by Nessa Stevens anymore. But the way my body acted before my mind could stop it—the way I sank back into my seat, avoiding her eyes—told me otherwise. She smirked. I hated that smirk."Good boy," she said, leaning back. "Now, let’s talk business."I exhaled slowly, forcing my hands to stay still on the table. "Fine."She crossed her legs, taking her time as she studied me. "We’re getting married in two months. My father expects me to ‘get to know you,’ but honestly? I have better things to do. So here’s the deal."She leaned forward slightly. "We’ll put on a

I pushed the restaurant doors open with more force than necessary, my heels clicking against the marble floor as I stepped inside. I still couldn’t believe I was here. This whole thing was a joke.My eyes scanned the room, searching for my so-called husband-to-be, and there he was—sitting at the far end of the restaurant, eyes locked on me like I was some kind of ghost from his past.I tilted my head, studying him. Huh. He hadn’t changed much since high school, but at the same time, he had. The acne I used to tease him about? Gone. His face was smooth now, his features more refined. He’d filled out, too—not scrawny like before, though he still had those chubby cheeks that made him look younger than he was. And those big, round eyes? Still wide with that same look of disbelief, like he couldn’t believe I was standing here. The corner of my lips curled into a smirk. Oh, Aaron, don’t tell me you’re still scared of me.A spark of excitement shot through me. It had been a while since I’d t

  • MRS BAD AND MR INNOCENT    The first date

The first date ..I sighed for what felt like the twentieth time as I stared at the girly dresses my maid, Amara, had brought into my room.I looked at her. Then at the clothes. Then back at her. And once again at the clothes.“So, you’re telling me my dad expects me to wear this on a date? A stupid pink gown? What am I, seventeen?!” I raised an eyebrow, my voice laced with disbelief.Amara shifted nervously. “Yes, ma’am. He said you must wear this and go to the date. He also instructed me to stay here until you’re dressed.”Oh, you’ve got to be f*cking kidding me. I would rather walk through the seven circles of hell than wear that. What did he take me for, fourteen?I crossed my arms. “Okay, you can go now. Don’t worry about me, I’m fine.”Amara hesitated. “Uhm, ma’am… he told me not to leave you alone under any circumstances.”I narrowed my eyes at her, giving her my most intimidating look. “Get out.”She barely lasted two seconds before she scurried out of the room like her life
