I saw the way that Nyra turned as white as a ghost at the sound of my father's voice.

She began to tremble on the spot and I felt my wolf stir for her. Did I pity her? Was that even possible?

I sighed. I guess I had to save her from this predicament. It was not like I was afraid of my father. I feared no one nor consequences of any actions I took.

So I moved my hand to her hair and pulled out a white particle that must have come from sleeping in Rylan's bed.

"How careless you are, Nyra? You let yourself walk around with filth in your hair. You should pay attention to yourself and take care of yourself. You come first," I threw her my most charming smirk and she widened her eyes at me but Father already fell for it.

Father chuckled from where he stood. "My beloved," he said as he turned to Lyora whom we had both not noticed standing behind him. "Our children are getting along so well."
