Chapter 10

Kylie's POV

It wasn't easy serving the Blondie, at first she wanted fruit salad then later she wanted whisky then red wine, and so on and at the end of it all she didn't take anyone, she just wanted to see her honey bunny. I was very angry that after wasting my precious time, Jaylen didn't have a sip from the coffee but rather returned it to the kitchen saying it was late to have a coffee, late my fucking ass.

I set the table alone for Don Jaylen and his guest. I had to prepare the same dishes in three different ways, just because one likes Garlic and the other likes onion and only God knows what the last one likes.

"Hey pretty," Vegas greeted when he sat at the dining table. I smiled and used my finger to push a strand of my hair backward.

"Hello," I lowered my gaze blushing, Vegas was too fine not to blush.

Kylie! You are a mother to a nine-year-old and you are blushing at the sound of hello, I wanted to smack my head badly.

"So what's the name? I never really got a chance to ask," Vegas flashed me a smile and my cheeks became red as a strawberry.

"Kylie, my name is Kylie," I said in a very low tone.

"Oh, Kylie the name is Vegas," My name rolled out of Vegas' tongue smoothly.

"Who is she? Another one of Jaylen's things?" A brown-eyed dude looked at me weirdly before sitting at the dining table.

"She isn't another one of Jaylen's things Rex, she is Kylie," Vegas threw an apple at Rex and he caught it.

"My bad, hi Kylie, so how much did Jaylen spend?" Rex waved at me and took a bite from the apple.

"A whopping fucking 700 million in cash, who else does it better than Jaylen," Vegas yelled out excitedly.

Rex looked at me from head to toe, "She isn't worth it tho and I know your brother has a lot to spend but 700 million on her, I'm pretty sure you instigated him."

I feel like smacking Rex at the back of his ugly head, like what does he mean I ain't worth that amount?

"I didn't, I was just at the auction, didn't know he would show up," Vegas defended.

"Nah, not worth it," Rex took his seat, and right at that moment I knew I was going to teach him a lesson along with Jaylen.

"I'm shocked you two haven't started dinner," Jaylen sat at the table, without sparing anyone a glance, his eyes on his phone.

"We were waiting for you," Rex smiled at Jaylen and he returned the smile.

"I wasn't," Vegas muttered but to everyone's hearing.

I started serving the dishes on everyone's plate, to be honest, I have forgotten who was supposed to eat what and who wasn't supposed to eat what not.

Vegas held my wrist while I was serving food on his plate and read the tattoo on it out loud, "Charmaine, who is that?"

I didn't want to say it was my daughter or something like that because I didn't know if he was the caller or maybe the caller was around here.

"My late sister," I lowered my gaze as I pretended to cry and feel disheartened.

"Oh, I'm sorry, do you want to talk about it?" Vegas' eyes softened and his voice held concern.

"No, not now, maybe some other time," I wiped the tears I managed to force out of my eyes and Vegas nodded his head.

"The fuck! Garlic," Jaylen spat the food inside his mouth back to the plate.

I'm done for, the garlic was supposed to be for Vegas.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, that food was for Don Vegas," I began apologizing.

"Don't call me Don, Just Vegas please," there was a smirk on Vegas' face as amusement danced in his tone.

"How can you make such a mistake?" Jaylen hit his hands on the table, "did you do it on purpose?"

"Jaylen it couldn't have been on purpose besides she is new here," Rex interrupted.

"Why? Are you thinking that perhaps maybe your mom sent her to eliminate you after so many years," Vegas taunted Jaylen, Jaylen balled his fist into a ball.

"Vegas," Rex tried to stop Vegas from talking. I didn't really know what they were talking about but the air was tense.

"Oh please Rex, Jaylen it's just garlic because you are a spoiled rotten brat doesn't mean you should disrespect food, I don't like onions but you know what? I eat them when given to me," Vegas spat.

"Now is on me? I didn't tell your drunken dad to fucking abandoned you and that bitch so you can eat what you don't like and fucking grow up on the street or is he really your dad though?" Jaylen backfired, Damn it was getting hot.

I think Vegas was trying to control his anger for some reason because there was no way someone would speak to me in that manner and I wouldn't have sent that person to his maker.

From what I could understand, Jaylen and Vegas share the same birth mom but different dads, Jaylen doesn't like their mom but Vegas does and there is something more.

"Wow," Vegas clapped his hands, I could see tears threatening to fall, "You calling Mom a bitch? Do you know what she fucking did for you to grow up in this luxury!"

"I don't fucking care," Jaylen spat, "I went through a lot growing up, where was my fucking mother? I know she was out being an escort," Jaylen burst into laughter.

"Everything she did was for the both of us," Vegas said calmly as he tried to blink the tears.

"Really? Then you shouldn't have grown up in the streets eating from hand to mouth, then you shouldn't have asked my father for help," Jaylen spat staring straight at Vegas, a painful grimace made his way to Vegas's face.

I wondered why Vegas had to grow up on the street and what their mother did that only one child could see.

"Let's have dessert," Vegas managed to choke out.

I served them dessert and everything was going fine until Rex decided to open his mouth. I understand he was trying to ease the tension but……

"What made you spend so much on her?" Rex asked and Vegas dropped his fork on the table.

"Come to think of it, Jaylen, why did you go to the auction Ring by yourself?" Vegas asked, I paid attention because this was what I needed to know.

"That shouldn't be your business, I'm having dinner with you as Mother requested so you shouldn't cross the line again," Jaylen warned Vegas.

"Really? Is it because Mother requested it or because he said so?" Vegas pointed at Rex.

"Is supposed to be us two but your minion is here," Vegas said to Jaylen then turned to Rex, "You work for the law as a police officer, if I may ask, what are you doing sitting having dinner with a drug Lord like myself and an underground king of illegal businesses?"

"Vegas!" Jaylen called out stopping Vegas from completing his sentence.

"What!" Vegas yelled, "A Police officer seated with two most notorious people, I wonder when you are going to turn us in with evidence for promotion," Vegas laughed in mock.

"Vegas, I think it is high time you leave and tell your mother who is on her deathbed that this dinner can't hold anymore," Jaylen said sternly.

"Should I? She requested this of her first son and he has the audacity to spew this nonsense," Vegas balled his hands into a fist, "Since you refused to be a bone marrow donor for her, aren't you at least going to see her once on that deathbed?" His voice cracked upon saying.

"No, I will only see her on the day of her funeral," Jaylen stood up from the chair, "Clean the table up, I'm done with dinner and I would like to take a rest in my room," Jaylen left the dining table without sparing anyone a glance.

"I will be in Jaylen's study," Rex announced despite no one asking and left the room after Jaylen.

"Do you drink?" Vegas managed to ask sadly and I nodded my head in response.

"When you are done, let's have a drink in my car," Vegas gave a half-hearted smile
