I was dressed up, my hair made perfectly, and my bag was resting beside me on the bed. I stared at myself in the mirror and saw my hollow eyes.

I passed out last night when Nikolai injected me with something and I woke up in my bed at home.

I didn't want to think about what happened last night. I didn't want to dwell on it. I had made up my mind. It was over.
