57. Decisive Moments

“Scarlet, you look nice.” As Scarlet receives a compliment from him, they engage in a conversation, discussing the weather in France where she resides. Eventually, the topic of her boyfriend, Tyler, arises, causing her complexion to pale. Preparing to fabricate a lie, she licks her lower lip, ready to respond. 

However, their conversation is abruptly interrupted by the arrival of Aunt Camilia.

"Well, he was cheating, so she broke up," Lora begins, but Scarlet's gaze remains fixed on her aunt's face. Dominic, understanding the situation, nods in response. "Well, this sucks. He has been in the family for three years."

After Dominic walks away to get himself a drink, Lora and Scarlet are left alone. Scarlet confronts her aunt about the lie she told Dominic. "Why did you lie to him? I cheated on him."
