“Did I just hear it wrong?” one of the visiting Alphas muttered, his voice cutting through the stunned silence.

“Arielle… rejecting Arnold?” The Alpha of Stormclaw Pack gasped.

“Oh, Moon Goddess…” whispered a third.

“This is insane!” someone else exclaimed from the crowd.

Alpha Xander rose abruptly from his seat, his eyes wide. “Arielle, what are you doing?”

Arielle didn’t answer.

Luna Celeste scoffed loudly. “I knew this girl would always turn out to be a conniving wretch!”

“Celeste, that’s enough,” Xander warned, his voice low.

Arnold’s composure cracked. “Arielle, do you have any idea what you’re saying?”

“I know,” Arielle replied, her tone calm but cold. “And I understand it better than ever.”

Gasps rippled through the room as she raised her voice.

“I, Arielle Mooncrest, Luna of Moon Titan Pack, reject Alpha Arnold Ashford.”

Arnold’s eyes widened. “Arielle, you’re out of your mind! The Moon Goddess brought us together—why are you rejecting our bond now?”

Arielle tilted her head sl

Ethan stood in front of them, His expression was unreadable, but his eyes lingered on Arielle, steady and unreadable. For a moment, silence stretched between them, broken only by the rustle of the wind. Then his voice came, low and calm.“Drusilla,” he said, not taking his eyes off Arielle, “that’s enough for today. Take Lady Arielle to her chambers. She needs to rest.”Drusilla bowed quickly. “Y–Yes, Alpha.”Arielle hesitated, her heart thudding in her chest, wanting to speak but unsure what to say. Ethan gave no further word.Drusilla gently tugged at Arielle’s sleeve. “My lady…”With one last glance toward him, Arielle turned and followed Drusilla through the lit path back toward the mansion.****“Alpha Xander, the pack grows restless, we need to stabilize them.” Celeste spoke, her voice smooth but firm. Atnold must make Aurora his Luna immediately. Arnold leaned forward, his tone respectful but laced with urgency.“Mom is right, Dad. The pack needs a stable Alpha and a Luna. We

The maids moved gracefully around the dining table, serving the meal with silent precision. The air was thick with unspoken tension. Once the last dish was served, the maids withdrew quietly. The only sounds that remained were the soft clinking of utensils and the crackling of the hearth until Ethan cut into his steak, took a slow bite, and then sipped his wine before finally breaking the silence.“Sephy, this is Arielle Mooncrest, a new member of the Shadow Fang Pack.”“Oh, how fascinating,” Seraphina murmured, lips curling into a mocking smile. “The famed outcast of the Moon Titan Pack…the Luna who was cast aside by her own pack.”Arielle’s fork froze mid-air. The words stung, but she didn’t let them see it. Before she could speak, Ethan’s voice cut through the air, sharp and commanding.“You will not speak that way, Seraphina.”For a moment, Seraphina's smile faltered. Ethan’s tone softened a bit as he turned to Arielle. “Arielle, this is Luna Seraphina of the Stormclaw Pack. Her f

Arielle woke up to the soothing scents of burning wood and leather. The aroma was unfamiliar, too masculine to belong to her chamber. She knew it was not her chamber, because she couldn't perceive the familiar notes of floral and lavender that usually clung to her sheets. She lay on a vast bed of soft brown silk sheets. The faint glow of fire danced across the walls.Beside her sat an elderly woman with silver hair braided over one shoulder, eyes glowing faintly blue— Maera, Shadow Fang’s chief healer. Across the room, Leo stood near the window, arms folded, his expression unreadable but watchful.Maera smiled gently. “Glad to see you awake, my dear.”Arielle’s voice came out hoarse. “What… happened? Where am I?”“You’re safe,” Maera replied, adjusting the blanket. “The Alpha brought you here after the bond was severed. You collapsed because your wolf’s energy became unstable, a side effect of a broken mate bond.”Arielle frowned, memories crashing back. “Arnold…” she whispered.Ma

“Who’s there?” Aurora demanded again, eyes darting to the door. Arnold frowned, listening for a second, then he waved a dismissive hand. “It’s nothing. Probably just the maid.” Aurora wasn’t convinced. Her eyes narrowed. “I’m sure it’s something, Arnold. What if someone was watching?” He sighed, exasperated. “You worry too much.” “Just check,” she insisted, voice sharp with irritation. With a reluctant growl, Arnold got up and swung the door open. At that exact moment, Miran, one of the maids, walked past pushing her cleaning cart. Arnold exhaled through his nose and muttered, “See? It's just the maid doing her rounds. I told you it was nothing.” Aurora rolled her eyes but forced a tight smile. “Just making sure.” Arielle hid behind the pillar and pressed a trembling hand to her mouth, her heart pounding. As soon as Arnold shut the door, she turned and disappeared down the corridor. Arnold exhaled slowly, his gaze dark. Then his lips curved, matching her smile. “Where

Arielle sat on the edge of her bed, her head still spinning from the effects of last night’s drinking. She pressed her fingers against her temples and exhaled slowly. A few strands of hair fell across her face, and she tucked them behind her ear, her eyes lifting to meet her reflection in the mirror. What stared back at her was a pale, tired version of herself. Then it struck her—today was the day. Today she would collect the letter from the council, and it was also the day she was killed. Her chest tightened as memories flooded back. She remembered when Xander had come to her chamber to deliver the news of the council’s approval and how he had planned their engagement for that very night. “But this time, history will not repeat itself,” she murmured to herself. Just then, a knock at the door came right on cue. Before she could respond, the door creaked open. Alpha Xander stepped in, wearing his usual composed smile—the same fatherly expression he had used to deceive her for year
