Chapter Four: After A Night

The next day, Daphne woke up because her leg was hurting. She slowly moved until she felt a thigh resting on her. Because of the shock, she immediately covered her mouth.

She carefully removed the leg from her thigh and then looked around.

She felt a little headache. Even though she was shock– what happened last night slowly dawned on him. The whole hot night they shared with a strange man.

She looked at the man beside her. She saw a handsome man fast asleep. Before she could fantasize about the man again, she quickly stood up and picked up her scattered blankets. She quickly dressed and left the room.

When she got out, she only found out that they were in the bar's VIP room.

She immediately called a taxi, even though the part of her flower was tingling. From the mirror of the taxi, she could clearly see how miserable she looked. She sighed and then closed her eyes as she calmed herself down.

"Calm down, Daphne, it's just a one night stand, nothing more than that," she convinced himself.

But that didn't work and she still seemed anxious. She was literally drunk last night! She was able to do that thing and because of the bullshit arranged marriage! She calmed down little by little, she just convinced herself that there would be no problem because of what happened.

Well, she really hopes.

She didn't go straight to her condo unit but to her friend Izzy's house. She quickly pulled her into the house after she paid the taxi. Even though the friend was surprised, for what she's doing there.

"I had sex with a stranger!" that's what she shouted then went directly into the shower room.

"Oh. My. Gosh!" Izzy looked shocked and slammed the door of the shower room. "Sis, ate you for real?! Who? Where?" How? Is the guy good?!" Daphne frowned at her friend's last question. She quickly opened the door again, but before that she had the courage to face her friend.

"What kind of question, if the man is good?"

"Yes or no?!" she pulled Daphne out of the shower room. "You're crazy! Tell me a story before you take a shower. After you left me at the bar last night, this is what you're going to reveal to me? You've already had a fucking one night?!"

Daphne felt dizzy. "I really don't know what happened. You're the one who disappeared, I looked for you because I couldn't find you. I don't know why, my body suddenly felt warm and according to. . ."

"What?"

"I kissed the man and that's it, we had a sex. . . a great sex!"

"You're so amazing! So it's delicious! Yes! Yes! Yes!"

She just laughed at her friend's reaction. Somehow her worry has disappeared. She entered the shower room again and then took a shower.

The next day everything went back to normal. She is busy with her patients. What happened the other night didn't even cross her mind.

When she had a lunch break, she went to the cafeteria with Izzy. From a distance she could clearly see the figure of Klark. One of her co-Doctors who is itching to date her. She was about to avoid them but it was too late when he saw her.

"Doc. Romero!" he greeted her with a smile while waving.

Daphne suddenly frowned and looked at her friend.

"Uyy, Doctor Cabrera," she just said when he got close to them.

"Let's eat together, after all I just ordered."

The two friends looked at each other.

"Ah, maybe you and Izzy can eat together." Izzy's eyes widened as she stared at her. "I need to meet someone quickly around Starlove Caffè."

"Can I come with you?"

"No, not anymore, what we're talking about is a private matter. Another poor thing is that my friend doesn't have a companion," she then stroked Izzy's back.

Izzy hugged her. "You're really crazy. You know I don't like this arrogance either." whispered her friend.

"I just need some relax. I'm done with that naughty boy, you'll take care of it." she whispered back.

"You owe me this."

"Okay, bye! Have a great lunch, guys!"

She finally left the cafeteria and went straight outside the Hospital. She let out a breath and looked at her wrist watch. She had a long break because she's no longer had any patients by the afternoon, the nurse was in charge of monitoring her admitted patients.

She ordered ice coffee and a piece of cake. While inside Starlove Caffè, she was also busy scrolling through her social media account. She is also inclined to do that especially since she has no other hobbies. After finishing, she immediately left the Caffè and went for a walk.

She went to the nearest playground. This is what she called 'relaxing', because here the children are playing freely. She sat on one of the swings and watched the children with a smile. She really wishes that she could be just like the children, no problems and just enjoy life.

She was alarmed when her phone rang. When she looked at it, she saw her Mom's registered number. She thought twice, and then she took a deep breath before she answered the call.

"What is it again?" he will meet here.

"We have a dinner tomorrow night with your soon to be husband. I hope you've made up your mind, Daphne."

She sighed. "Why all of a sudden?! I have duty tomorrow, Ma. Besides, I didn't expect it to be a simple dinner, because I'm sure we'll talk about marriage. You're in too much of a hurry. You said two weeks before I get married, it's not two weeks yet, can I enjoy being single first?"

"Daphne, it's better if you met earlier."

"I don't care. I don't want to meet him. And don't worry because I'm not going to run away from that bullshit marriage either."

She heard her mother sigh. "Don't mess with them, Daphne. You don't know them. You might just be surprised one day you might be fired from the job you've been keeping."

Her mother has disappeared on the other line. The last words she said were the ones that left her thinking. She held her cellphone tightly because of annoyance.

"So I should be afraid of them? As if. But what if it's true and my future husband can do that? I can't lose my job. I won't let that happen."

Her mother looked like she had been warned, and now she left no choice.
