Nova’s POV;

The air felt denser now, like when there was a storm brewing and oxygen ran out and every breath took more work.

Levi was standing in front of me, hand gripped on the edge of the marble counter, the other just hanging by his side as if he did not know what to do with it. His face was not guilty, so much.

It was something deeper, like he was preparing for a storm, looking for the ideal umbrella to hold over us both before the rain arrived.

I recognized that look. It was the same one he wore when he delivered bad news to clients or fought with his dad over the phone.

I resented that I already knew. And still, I waited, the thudding of my heart marking the seconds between us.

"Her name's Felicia," he said, at last, his voice controlled but low as if he was afraid the name itself would harm.

I did not blink but in my head, it was like I had. Something curled up within, tight and tightened like someone had inserted a fork into my insides and started slowly turning.

"She is. A

Nova's POVThe sun had already begun its slow descent into the horizon when I came in through the front entrance of the house, casting golden amber-colored shadows across the windows that ran from floor to ceiling. Stillness inside greeted me like an old friend, one that I was considerably more in need of than I realized.I removed my heels and set them alongside the console table, advancing barefoot over the waxed floor. Outside the glass, the soft thrum of the city throbbed, but inside, silence reigned. Quiet. As if the world waited with me, suspended breath. My coat fell from my shoulders and I hung it with care before proceeding into the kitchen."Mara," I whispered, aware that the housekeeper had a tendency to clean up around this time. And in fact, I could hear her steps soon afterwards."Yes, ma'am?""You may go to bed now," I said with a slight smile. "I have everything taken care of here."She blinked in mild surprise. "You are sure?"I nodded. "Yes, thanks to you."She ga

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 67

Nova’s POVMonday mornings were always a slow unravelling of chaos, but today felt oddly quiet. Peaceful, even. The familiar scent of lemon polish and fresh flowers filled the air—a scent I'd come to associate with power, with belonging. The PR storm had finally died down. Shari had been dealt with. HR issued a formal statement. A warning had been added to her file. Most importantly, Levi stood by me every step of the way, his unwavering support a shield against the whispers and sideways glances that had followed me for days. It still amazed me how fiercely he protected me without ever making me feel small. How he could command a room with his presence alone, yet look at me like I was the only force that could move him. After all that, I'd decided to leave home a bit earlier today and stop by the café across the street for a quiet coffee before work officially began. The warm cup nestled between my palms had been comforting—a small ritual to prepare myself for whatever the day might

Levi’s POVMonday passed quickly.Quicker than I would have preferred.Nova had already left when I came down and though I was half-tempted to chase after her because of my hard-on. I had a stack of time-sensitive documents from our European office that could not wait any longer. She had kissed me farewell, soft, brief, sweet but there was a quiet determination in her eyes that told me she was reaching for something more than the pain of the last few days. She had endured so much and I could tell by the tension at the corners of her mouth, the way her fingers brushed across my chest before she pulled back.I resented being not beside her as she stepped into that office. But she had asked me to promise. "You've got a company to run," she had told me, rubbing her thumb along my jawline. "And I have got a day to conquer. Let's both do it." Her tone was full of that familiar stubbornness I had grown to adore, the kind that informed her she did not need to be rescued but rather supported.

Levi’s POVThe air in my office felt heavy like a storm was looming just beyond the horizon. I leaned back in my chair, elbows on the armrests, fingers steepled against my lips, my mind still lingering on the way Nova had looked when she recognized Shari’s name. Shocked, disappointed... but not broken. Never broken.I let out a breath.Shari.A junior accountant. I hadn’t paid much attention to her beyond the usual employee reviews. She’d always been quiet, competent, unremarkable. Until now. I never would’ve guessed she was the one behind the post—or that she had the gall to weaponize both race and reputation like that against Nova."You’ve both seen the report from Ryan?"Karen gave a curt nod. "Yes. He was thorough."Matthew adjusted his glasses. "This is clearly a breach of internal code. Beyond that, it potentially opens us up to defamation liability if left unaddressed.""Then we don’t leave it unaddressed."They both looked at me."We handle this the way it should be handled

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 64

Nova’s POVI didn’t remember the walk back to my office. My heels clicked against the tile floor with mechanical rhythm, Levi’s presence at my side grounding me, but inside—inside I was unravelling.Shari.Of all the people.I kept hearing her voice from last month, soft and hopeful, as she told me how inspired she was by my story. How much it meant to see someone who looked like her—someone who’d made it.She’d smiled. She’d asked for advice. She’d been kind.Or maybe she’d just worn the mask better than most.I sat down slowly at the edge of the small sofa in Levi’s office, my fingers still curled in the memory of her name.“She must’ve hated me the whole time,” I said, staring down at my hands.Levi stood in front of me, arms crossed, jaw tight. “Then that’s on her, not you. Whatever resentment she carried, it was hers to deal with—not to weaponize.”“But I need to know why,” I whispered. “Why go this far? To paint me like some… villain?”“Then let’s ask her,” Levi said simply. “No

Levi’s POV Monday came fast. Too fast. But instead of the usual dread that hung around the start of a workweek, there was something different in the air this morning—something electric, charged, like the calm right before a storm.I wasn’t walking into the building alone today.Nova was by my side. Her hand was in mine, fingers warm and steady, and her presence rooted me in a way nothing else ever had. She looked incredible in a sleek cream blouse and tailored slacks that hugged her frame perfectly, her hair pulled back into a neat twist, gold hoops gleaming in the morning light. A queen—poised, graceful, and effortlessly defiant. And we walked into AIMS Enterprise together, like we owned the damn place.Because we did.The front lobby was already buzzing with employees. Heads turned. Whispers followed. Eyes lingered a little too long. I felt them—their curiosity, their judgment, their awe—and I didn’t give a damn.Let them see.Let them choke on their own speculation. This woman wa

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 62.

Nova’s POVSunday mornings used to mean nothing to me—just another day to survive, another shift to work through. But lately… they’d started to feel different. Like little breaths of peace in the middle of chaos.I was still in bed when the soft hum of the city crept through the windows. Sunlight poured across the sheets like melted gold, and the warmth of it made it even harder to move. The apartment smelled faintly of citrus and whatever soap Levi used that made my head feel fuzzy with comfort. And I didn’t want to move. Wrapped in the plush blanket, I buried my face into the cool pillow and let my thoughts drift. For once, there wasn’t any pressure—no meetings, no deadlines, no pretending. Just a quiet Sunday in Levi’s apartment. And I was perfectly content to stay lazy for as long as the universe would let me.I heard the soft pad of footsteps, and then his voice—low, still sleepy. “You’re awake.”I turned my head slowly and smiled. Levi stood in the doorway, towel hanging from

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 61

Levi’s POVShe didn't say much. Not after Max’s, not during the ride home, and not when we crawled into bed together.I could feel the distance more than I could see it—like a shift in the air, something intangible but undeniable. Nova curled into me like always, fitting against me like she was carved for this space. But her heartbeat was quicker than usual, like something was tugging at her from the inside.I didn’t press.I wanted to. God, I wanted to. But when she gave me that soft, broken half-smile and whispered, “Just work stuff. Nothing we can’t handle,” I swallowed the million questions burning on my tongue.Because I knew her.Nova never lied—not the way people normally do. Her lies were quiet, gentle omissions coated in kindness. She didn’t lie to deceive. She lied to protect, to carry things herself because she didn’t want to burden anyone else.Especially not me.So I let her breathe. Even if everything in me screamed to dig deeper.Sleep didn’t come easily. I only prete
