LOGINAurora’s POVI flinched awake as I felt the cold water on me. I opened my eyes, and at first everything was blurry, but I blinked repeatedly, and I saw some strange men in the room. I recognised one of the men as Joel. He escaped prison with Quinn. Seeing him personally made me scared. He looked scary. There were tattoos all over him, and his head was bald. The tattoos were huge and ugly-looking. He noticed me looking at him, and then he grinned, showing me his yellow teeth.“She is beautiful,” he said, checking me out. I have never felt so disgusted before. I hope I am doing a great job in hiding my fear and disgust. The door opened, and I turned. It was Quinn, and she had a nasty smirk on her lips.“Boss! I am so happy to see you,” she exclaimed, walking to me like an excited kid. I looked at her blankly; I was also disgusted by seeing her. I never thought a day would come when I would see Quinn like this. Out of shape, her hair looked like a bird's nest, her skin filled with acne.
Aurora’s POVI gulped down the bottle of water hurriedly. After I was done, I threw the bottle carelessly across the kitchen.“This is absolutely ridiculous,” I said, panting.“Calm down, Aurora,” Norman said, but I was done being calm.“Dexter has been gone for five days, and we’ve lost all connections to him. I am worried about his safety, and I have run out of excuses to give Hailey. And now, they are requesting you?” I asked. He sighed.“The police are wor…" I cut him off.“They are not doing anything. They are useless. How hard is it to track them down? This isn’t even their city; they’ve been useless since this entire thing started, and now I’m worried about Dexter. I don’t even know if he’s alive,” I cried.“But what more can we do? Luca might be in danger,” he said. I shook my head.“He’s not. I’ve informed them since Dexter left. They all have bodyguards. I can’t have more deaths in my hands,” I said, wiping my tears. Dad walked into the kitchen.“This upsets me more than any
Aurora’s POVIt was the next day, and we were still in the morning. We were all in the kitchen as Norman and Papa cooked.“I’m so hungry,” Hailey groaned. Her hair was messy, and she was wearing one of her princess gowns.“Food will be ready soon, Hailey,” Dad said, patting her head. She huffed, and I went back to my phone, pressing it. The doorbell rang, and we all looked up.“Who could that be? We are not expecting anyone,” Dexter said.“I will get it,” I said, standing up. I walked to the front door, and I checked the camera, but no one was there.“That’s weird,” I mumbled, opening the door. I looked at the brown box on the front door, and I raised my brows. I’m pretty sure none of us ordered anything. I picked the box up, and it smelled horrible. I carried the box to the kitchen.“What’s that?” Dad asked.“I don’t know, but it smells horrible,” I said, dropping it. There was no address on it, and this was even more suspicious.“Should we open it?” I asked, looking at Dad.“Well, I
Aurora’s POV“You ruined my life,” Quinn said, glaring dangerously into my eyes. I was tied to the chair, unable to move.“I never did; you ruined your own life, Quinn. You wanted everything that belonged to me; all this won’t have happened if you were content!” I yelled, frustrated. Quinn hit me harshly in the face for the billionth time. I was in excruciating pain; I had no more energy in me to cry out. All those men laughed as she repeatedly hit me, and I lost all hope. Was I going to die here? After all my sufferings, is this how I would finally end? A few weeks ago, I had finally gotten rid of my anxiety, and I was living my best life with my family. How did I get here?…*************"Mommy, no!” Hailey squealed as I successfully pushed her and Dexter into the water.“Yes! We will again!” I squealed, grabbing Norman’s hair.“Hands off the hair, Aurora,” Norman hissed. I quickly removed my hand, laughing. We were all at the pool, and we were playing a game. Chicken fight. So far,
Norman’s POVI walked into the house carrying a big bowl of ice cream. I lied to Aurora, I didn’t go to work. I stepped out quickly to get a bowl of her favorite ice cream. She’s been feeling so anxious these days. I knew she wouldn't let me leave the house for just an ice cream so I had to lie. “Where is Aurora?” I asked as I walked in. Charles and Julius looked at the ice cream in my hand, and I could tell there was something about their look. “What?” I asked. Charles cleared his throat. “She’s at the back with Dexter and Hailey,” he said. I nodded, walking to the back of the house. I could already hear Hailey’s loud giggles. I smiled, wondering what was making her laugh so hard, but my smile dropped as I took in the scene in front of me. I continued standing by the corner watching them play in the pool. They looked like the perfect big family. My eyes trailed to the exact bowl of ice cream, and I sighed. “This was why they gave me that look,” I mumbled walking back. Charles and
Aurora’s POV “We are still monitoring their movements; so far we haven’t found anything or gotten any clue,” Paul said. I breathed out. This has been the same news for the past two weeks. Where could they be hiding? I stood up, walking outside to the pool area. The breeze blew me gently, and I took a deep breath. I am getting more anxious, and I always feel this tightness in my chest. I dialled Norman’s number on my phone, and he picked up at the first ring. “Hey baby,” his cheerful voice said, and I sighed. “I’m not comfortable with you not inside the house, Norman. What if you are trailed? Or kidnapped", I said. He chuckled. “Nothing like that would happen, Aurora. Besides, I will be back soon. They needed me at the office urgently,” he replied. I bite my nails nervously. “What if it were a trap? A trap to lure you out?” I asked. Norman sighed. “You are getting more anxious. You need to be calm, Aurora. The police would handle it. Nothing would happen to any of us,” he said. I
Aurora’s POV“How do I look?” I asked, twirling around for Dexter, and he smiled, looking at me. His eyes raked over me, paying attention to all details. Today was Friday, and we were getting ready for dinner. I was putting on a green coloured short ball gown. The gown was armless and had a small p
Dexter’s POV“Aurora,” the gentle female voice called from the TV as the camera showed little Aurora trying to crawl. It seems to be her nursery, and everywhere was a bit messy. Aurora was putting on a purple onesie with her black hair pulled up. She didn’t have much hair, but it was packed, and th
Aurora’s POV“No, this is better,” I said, holding up a lamp. Months have gone by, and today was my baby shower/gender reveal. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, and my due date is in three weeks. I am very nervous, although everyone is saying I shouldn’t be scared. My OB-GYN has checked me several
Aurora’s POVI hugged Dexter as tight as I could immediately we were shown to our room. He chuckled, hugging me back.“What’s the surprise hug all for?” He asked, and I looked up at him.“You deserve more than a hug; thank you for leading me back to my family,” I said. He smiled softly.“So, I dese
