The elevator ride up to Henry’s penthouse felt unusually quiet. Karen stood beside him, heels in hand now, her shopping bags slung over one shoulder, her mind still buzzing from the mall encounter and that phone call.

Henry looked over, one brow slightly raised. “You really enjoy messing with my accounts, don’t you?”

Karen smirked. “It’s not about the money. It’s the principle. I needed those heels for emotional healing.”

“You could’ve bought the store.”

“Maybe next week.”

The doors slid open.

The penthouse was dark except for the city lights pouring in through the glass walls. Karen dropped her bags on the couch, walked barefoot into the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of champagne.

Henry leaned against the counter, watching her.

“I didn’t expect this life,” she said suddenly, popping the cork. “Any of it. You. Them. This.”

He said nothing.

She poured two glasses and passed him one. “Do you ever get tired of being cold?”

Henry studied her. “No. Cold keeps people out.”

Henry didn’t speak much during breakfast. He read through reports with the same intensity he used to silence boardrooms. Karen, still adjusting to the quiet luxury of his private estate, watched him over her mug of coffee. It was strange living with a man who could destroy reputations with a phone call, but who now asked if she wanted pancakes or toast."You're staring," he said, not looking up.Karen blinked. "I'm just processing.""What?""You. Like this. Calm. Domestic."He finally looked at her, one brow raised. "I’m never calm. I’m calculating."She gave him a small smile. "Right. CEO stuff."Before he could reply, his phone buzzed. His jaw clenched.“Speak,” he answered coldly.Karen listened in silence as Henry’s tone grew icier. Someone had leaked internal numbers. Someone from his company. After the call, he stood. No emotion. Just that terrifying calm.“I’ll be at Frost Corp. today,” he said.Karen nodded. “Trouble?”He leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Nothing

After the intense board meeting, Henry headed straight to the Frost estate’s private lounge a room reserved only for family and a few trusted allies. Seated there was his grandmother, Evelyn Frost, the matriarch of the Frost empire. Her sharp eyes met his the moment he entered. “You look like you just survived a war,” she said dryly, patting the velvet armchair beside her. Henry allowed himself a rare smirk before sinking down. “Some days are worse than others.” Evelyn studied him for a moment. “You carry that coldness well, but don’t forget even ice melts with the right touch.” He glanced at her, eyebrows raised. “You mean Karen?” She chuckled softly. “Yes. She’s the one who’s thawing your edges. But you can’t let her be your weakness. That woman, Delilah, will test you like no boardroom adversary ever could.” Henry’s jaw tightened. “I’m ready for her.” Evelyn nodded approvingly. “Good. But remember, Henry, power isn’t just about crushing your enemies. It’s about know

Henry’s office was a fortress of glass and steel, cold and intimidating just like him. He sat behind the massive desk, eyes fixed on the glowing screens displaying Delilah’s every move. He wasn’t just going to fight back; he was going to win. Hard. Pulling up files, emails, and social feeds, Henry began piecing together Delilah’s hidden skeletons the secrets she thought were buried deep. Every bit of dirt he could find would become ammunition. He tapped his phone. “Get me the best private investigators. No mistakes.” Turning to Karen, who stood silently in the doorway, he said, “This isn’t just about protection anymore. It’s war.” Karen’s jaw tightened. “Then let’s make sure she knows she picked the wrong fight.” Henry’s cold smirk was the only answer she needed. Henry’s gaze shifted from the screens to a sleek, unopened laptop on his desk reports, shareholder emails, and quarterly forecasts piling up. The company was in the middle of a high-stakes merger, and every seco

The press conference might have been a success, but the aftermath was a different story. As the news spread like wildfire, social media platforms lit up with reactions, opinions, and speculations.Karen's phone buzzed nonstop, notifications pouring in from every direction. She glanced at the screen, her eyes widening as she saw the sheer volume of messages, comments, and mentions.Henry, sensing her unease, placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll get through this," he said, his voice calm and steady. But Karen knew better. The media storm was just the beginning. The real challenge lay in navigating the complex web of public opinion, where perceptions were shaped and reputations were made or broken.….Karen stared out the floor-to-ceiling window of Henry’s private estate. Karen stared at the message like it might bite her.Mia, peeking over her shoulder, frowned. “Please tell me that’s not who I think it is.”“It is,” Karen muttered, locking her phone. “Delilah.”Mia scoffed. “Does she not get tired? That woman’s drama has more sequels than Fast & Furious.”Karen sighed and tossed the phone onto the couch. “I just wanted one peaceful night.”Henry walked in just then, having overheard. “What did she say?”Karen didn’t sugarcoat it. “She said the game’s just starting.”Henry’s jaw tightened instantly. “She wants a game? She’ll get one.”Karen raised a brow. “I don’t want to play anything with her, Henry.”“She doesn’t get to make the rules,” he replied. Then, turning to his phone, he started dialing.“Who are you calling now?”“My lawyer,” Henry said simply. “If she thinks she can keep harassing you, she’ll learn what it feels like to be dragged through court with nothing but heels and hate.”Karen blinked. “That was oddly poetic and terrifying.”Henry

Henry’s personal house was a fortress disguised as a home. The sleek black gate slid open as they arrived, greeted by familiar faces the maids and bodyguards Henry had reluctantly rehired. Karen’s eyes widened as she took it all in. “This place feels like a whole different world.”Henry didn’t smile, just nodded. “It has to be. No more surprises. No more drama.”As the doors closed behind them, the tension from the outside world seemed to dissolve. But inside, the quiet was heavy full of unspoken questions and promises neither was ready to say aloud.Later, as Henry handed Karen a glass of wine in the dimly lit living room, he finally broke the silence.“You’re not just my project, Karen. You’re my priority.”She met his cold gaze, the hint of warmth beneath. “And you’re still the cold-hearted CEO I know just with a softer edge.”He smirked. “Only for you.”Outside, the city’s chaos buzzed faintly, but here, in the shadows of his personal kingdom, they were the only two people that m
