Natasha’s POV

“You didn’t tell me she was Tristan Castillo’s wife.”

That was the first thing I heard as consciousness slowly dragged me awake.

My head throbbed so violently it felt like someone was beating drums inside my skull. The voices were muffled, at first then gradually became clearer.

“Can y’all stop giving that man so much clout?” a familiar voice said. “He’s not even as terrifying as people make him seem.”

Lucas.

“What the fuck do you mean by ‘not terrifying’?” a voice snapped. “Jus

Tristan’s POVNatasha clawed at my arm the second my hand covered her mouth. She twisted, trying to scream, trying to break free. I tightened my hold. Only then did she go still against me. Carlos’s voice rang out again. “Natasha!”I pulled my hand away from her mouth. Leaning close to her ear, I murmured, “It’s me.”“I know,” she whispered. “But how did you find me?” “We’ll talk later,” I replied quietly. “Can you walk?” I paused, then frowned. “How’d you know it’s me?”“Can I walk?” She scoffed. “I’ve been running for miles with an injured foot. And we’ve been married for what now? Of course I know it’s you.”The corner of my mouth lifted. “Fair.”“Natasha!” Carlos called again. “I know you’re in here. Don’t ma—”A loud smack echoed through the shadows. “Let me go!” Carlos demanded. “Who are you?!”I released Natasha and grabbed her by the hand. “That’s Daniel.”Natasha followed behind me, limping but refusing to let go of my hand. We finally came into view, the torn roof spill

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 73–Cut The Crap

Tristan’s POV“Don’t go there, Tristan.” Daniel had been trying to talk me out of it for the umpteenth time. I wasn’t listening. “What the fuck do you want me to do, Daniel?!” I snapped. “We’ve checked every fucking place we could think of! Every time we trace his phone, he’s already gone!”“We can keep looking, Tristan,” Daniel said. “The police—”“Man, fuck the police!” I cut him off. “My wife has gone missing for almost forty-eight hours, and they still haven’t found her. You want me to sit around and wait for them?” Daniel scratched his chin. “I get it, Tristan. I do. But think about this… if you go to Gonzalo, that man is going to have something to hold against you.”“Do I look like I give a fuck?!” I barked. “The only link Carlos had was with Gonzalo. The last time, he tried to take Patricia. What’s to say he hadn’t taken Natasha to him?”Daniel exhaled, but I wasn’t done. “Can’t he just accept that I left? That I don’t want anything to do with him anymore? Why drag my family

The room spun for a second. I had no idea how long I’d been unconscious. I pressed a hand against my head. The voice continued.“Do you know what it takes to walk away from a man like Gonzalo alive… without a single scratch?” Who the heck was Gonzalo?“Why do you think Gonzalo himself wanted Tristan back?” the voice demanded. “Why do you think he sent you to go after his sister?”Go after Patricia? Bu

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 71–A Father

Tristan’s POVI sat at the head of the conference room at Castillo Logistics, my eyes fixed on the map of shipping routes projected on the screen. One of the executives stood at the far end, speaking. “A massive labor strike has completely shut down a major port where most of our clients’ goods are trapped. If we don’t reroute to the secondary port by tonight, our biggest retail client loses their entire inventory.”A low ripple of murmurs drifted through the room. Demurrage fees. Breach of contract. Client lawsuits.I let them panic for exactly thirty seconds before I raised a single hand. The room went dead quiet. “What’s the financial hit if we wait out the strike, Robert?” I asked. Robert hesitated. “Conservative estimate? About fifty thousand per container in demurrage by the end of the week. If the strike runs past Friday and our client misses their delivery window, we’re looking at a breach claim.”I nodded once. “And rerouting cost?”“Thirty percent above the original quote

Tristan’s POVAbuela had been asking me to read to her lately. I didn’t know when it started, but I couldn’t complain. One evening after work, she handed me a book and said her eyes were tired. I read two pages before she fell asleep. The next night she handed me the same book. We never really talked about it. It just became something we did. And today wasn’t any different. The only difference was that I hadn’t gone into work today. I sat in the chair beside her, the same book open in my hands. Soft afternoon light filtered through the curtains.Abuela was propped up against the pillows, her eyes closed. I read quietly, turning pages carefully so the sound wouldn’t disturb her. She was breathing steadily. Halfway through the chapter, I paused.“Abuela?”A smile tugged at her lips. “I’m with you, Tristan.”I continued reading. For a few minutes, the house felt quiet in a way I never imagined. Just the sound of my voice and Abuela’s breathing. I didn’t realize how much I needed th

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 69–Forgive Me

Natasha’s POVThe call had been going for twenty minutes and I still hadn’t gotten a word in. Rani was in full consultant mode, going on about timelines, branding strategies, social media content calendars, and marketing plans. I nodded every time, occasionally scribbling notes on the pad in front of me. When she finally paused to breathe, I jumped in. “We’ve already gone over most of this before, Rani,” I said, laughing softly. “I got a space last week. Signed the papers yesterday.”There was a short pause on her end. “Already?” She sounded surprised but pleased. “That’s fast. Good. Send me the address and photos when you can.”“I can show you now.” I switched the call to video. “Take a look.”I walked her through the space, showing off the small showroom, the workspace, the private office. Everything. After showing Rani around, she finally said, “This is really impressive, Natasha.” She smiled. “Now we can start building your portfolio around that location.”I nodded. “Great. I

Natasha’s POV “Hell fucking no! You can’t be serious,” I said. “You really expect me to marry Tristan Castillo? The same Tristan who was rumored to have killed his own parents?” I laughed after I said that, because the whole thing sounded like a bad joke. My father didn’t react immediately. H

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 2–He Wants You, Natasha

Natasha’s POV I woke up to a throbbing headache. My head felt heavy against the pillow. The dull pain reminded me of the whiskey I had insisted on drinking last night. Sunlight pierced through the half-closed blinds of my bedroom. I groaned softly, pressing my palm against my forehead as fragm

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 1–A Stranger At The Club

Natasha’s POV The music was too loud. I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. The pounding bass pulsing through the nightclub drowned my thoughts. On the other hand, the flashing lights and the bodies pressed against each other on the dance floor made everything unbearable. I

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 5–You Worry Too Much

Tristan’s POV By the time I stepped into the house, the urgency from the call had already faded. My sister, Patricia, was waiting at the foyer. “She’s been asking for you,” she said. “Her blood pressure spiked earlier, and we tried to calm her down, but she just wouldn’t budge.” I didn’t resp
