Eunice
The priest already began the ceremony but my heart couldn’t stop beating erratically. I wanted to run away because I couldn’t believe this is actually happening to me but when I saw how Josiah looked, my head was already in haywire.
“Are you okay?” I heard Josiah ask me.
I nodded. I guess I’m acting weird, huh? He doesn’t really ask me if I’m fine. But right now, he did. Maybe I was overdoing this.
The wedding rites continued. My parents were crying as I read the vow that the organizer has written for me. But they were even crying more when they heard the vow that Josiah was reading. I bet it was also written by our organizer because I heard them talking about that.
I can hear Sage laughing quietly from behind. Josiah glared at him before looking at me.
“The groom, please repeat after me,” the priest said as he started reading the vow.
Josiah took a deep bre
Josiah“She’s looking at you,” Sage whispered the moment I sat on their table. “She seems tired,” he added.I sighed and glanced at her. She is looking at me but immediately looked away when she saw me glancing her way.Stan laughed. “Maybe you should ask her if she wants to leave,” he said.I glared at him. “Are you kidding? Where on earth would there be a wedding reception where the wife went home earlier than everyone?”Bradley shook his head. “Come on, bro. She looks so sleepy. At least let her sleep for a bit,” he said as he munched down the sashimi.Stan nodded. “Then, come back. We have something to talk about,” he said in a serious tone.I nodded and stood up to walk towards Eunice. I pulled a chair to sit beside her before leaning in to ask if she’s tired. She nodded and I can see teasing faces from her friends.“
Eunice“You can sit down and rest if you’re tired,” I heard Josiah tell me as we moved our things to our house.I panted and sat on the porch. We have been moving things for two hours now but I haven’t even moved half of my wardrobe in my room.Josiah looked at me while he carried the couch inside the house. He doesn’t look so stressed like me. Well, he’s a boy so he could do this thing for a whole day and not get half as tired as I am right now.I fixed my hair in a ponytail before going back to the storage truck to get my things.Damn. I hate Mom for letting us do this. She should have asked someone to do this for us! I need to review for an exam tonight. Damn it.“I got this,” Josiah said as he walked beside me. He pulled the rack of my clothes without sweat.I looked at him and he just shrugged at me. “Are you finished moving your things?” I aske
Josiah“Woah, is that Kyle Kim of the College of Law?” Bradley asked as he looked at that familiar man from behind me.Stan nodded at me. “He’s hitting on your wife,” he said.I narrowed my eyes and turned to the direction of Eunice’s table. True enough, there was Kyle Kim trying to shake hands with her.She stared at his hand and I’m guessing that she will not shake it. I know her. She’s cold and mean. She doesn’t like strangers. She doesn’t talk to them.Sage patted my shoulder. “You’re not going to do anything, dude?” he asked.I glared at him. “Why would I do anything?” I asked. He shrugged. “Because she’s your wife and that man’s trying to steal her away from you,” he explained.I scoffed and shook my head. To be honest, I’m still kind of offended that she turned me down a while ago. I wa
Eunice“I hate this day,” Mona muttered under her breath as we walked towards the gym.“I know,” I replied as I lazily dragged my feet as I walked.Mona and I met accidentally at the entrance and that’s when I knew that she was also dragged here because of we have the same professor in PE.“Stupid PE,” she muttered as we looked for a place to sit.A lot of people have come into the gym. Actually, I heard from our class leader that this game is one of the most sought-after games of the coming intramurals.I only knew that we’re already having the elimination games for the inter-department basketball competition in preparation for the upcoming intramurals.Mona and I sat at the middle portion of the southern half of the bleachers. It is one of the places where the whole court can be seen. And we can also see who’s entering the gym because we are facing the entr
JosiahFuck. I need to get out of here.I shut my eyes and tried my best to stop myself from punching the locker once again. I stared at my hand. It has the ointment that Eunice applied.I swallowed hard. What was I doing? Why was I so annoying?I sighed and plopped myself on the bench inside the locker room. I needed to calm myself if I want to go and play. But then I’m already injured. I’m sure Coach wouldn’t let me play like this.My phone beeped and I immediately read the message.Hannah: Can you pick me up now?I bit my lip before taking a deep breath. Right, I should focus on Hannah because she is my girlfriend. I shouldn’t worry about Eunice too much. She can handle herself. This is wrong. I shouldn’t get affected for her.I already told her that Kyle is dangerous. It’s up to her if she still wants to get close to him regardless of what I just told her.
EuniceI tried my hardest to avoid him for the following weeks. I was back to my cold persona. I was back to not caring about him. Somehow, I felt better this way. This was the right way to handle this situation. This is the right thing to do.“Your husband is with Hannah?” Mitch uttered when she pointed at the entrance.I turned to that direction and saw Josiah with Hannah and some of her friends. Behind them are Josiah’s friends who look like they are not enjoying anything at all.I looked back to my food and just shrugged. “It’s the school fair so we’re allowed to have visitors.”Mitch narrowed her eyes at me. “I know but I’ve never seen him with her again ever since you got married,” she explained.“Me, too. But he’s going to her every day,” I replied nonchalantly.“That’s okay with you?” Mitch seemed to be in di
JosiahEunice ignored me even harder than she used to do. It’s been six long weeks since the unexpected hug I gave her but there was nothing that happened right after.I could not see Kyle Kim lurking around her, though. But that doesn’t mean he’s not pushing his luck on her. It’s just that she walks away even before he could approach her. That’s good enough for me. At least, she’s out of trouble. The whole gang has been busy in preparing for the coming of Glyph. It’s been four months since they sent that message but they are not showing up. We’ve been into gang fights for the past months but they were never Glyph. And there was no word from them.Sage was playing with his nunchucks when I entered the HQ. He was alone in the living room as he maneuvered his weapon. I can hear the sound of the bow letting go of an arrow before hitting the wood from the backyard. It must be Dorian and h
EuniceIt’s 2 in the morning and there’s still no sign of Josiah in the house. I have finished reading the whole coverage of our lecture tomorrow but there’s still no sign of that brute here.I walked down to get some water. I have classes at 8:00 tomorrow and I can’t believe I am staying up late to wait on a person I am not even sure if he’s going home. But then I couldn’t dare to sleep without knowing if he’s safe. We haven’t spoken so much in so long. We only have a few exchanges. I ignored him with the best of my ability.I believe that this is for our sakes. He has a girlfriend so he couldn’t hug me like that. He could not beg like he’s jealous about Kyle Kim. It confuses me and I hate it. I don’t like uncertainty.Mona said I was being paranoid. She said that maybe Josiah acted like that because he cares for me as a friend. Well, if he is, I don’t think I
