Chapter 35 - Who's More Important?

Charlotte's POV

She instinctively placed her hand on her stomach as it suddenly grumbled. It seems like the baby inside her belly is hungry. She stared blankly, realizing that she should eat too. She can't afford to skip meals anymore.

Elijah entered the room again and stopped right beside her.

"What do you want to eat?"

She glanced at Elisse. "What's the meal?"

"I don't know what the maid cooked, but maybe we can just check in the kitchen and see. If there's anything you don't like, I can tell the maids to cook something else for you."

"Okay."

She leaned on the bed, but Elijah immediately held her and helped her stand up. They went to the kitchen and checked the dishes. It was fine; there was nothing she disliked, so there was no need for Elijah to command the maids to cook something else.
