CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

It all hits me once I'm in the woods. I don't have anywhere to go. I don't have anyone to be with. I'm a lost soul floating in the world, and Jim hates me. He truly hates me.

I try to run away from it all, but I can't run far enough to get away from these horrible feelings. I can't fix what's happened between us. I can't make this right.

So, instead of trying to make sense of this, I keep running. I shift into my werewolf form. I us the rocky ground beneath my feet to ground me. I soak in the energy from the trees, from the plants, from the sunshine against my fur. I revel in my wolf form. I don't know where I'm going, but I need to get away from here.

I don't stop running until I reach a lake. The blue water calms me, undisturbed as the sun sparkles off of it. It’s knowing depths let me know things will work out somehow.
