CHAPTER TWENTY

JIM’S POV

I'm completely heartbroken that Bria would do something like this to me. As I watch her leave, I want to tell her not to go. I want to tell her that I believe her. Part of me does believe her, but I can't.

I can't believe her because I saw the proof for myself. I saw the paw prints. I saw the things in her room. If she didn't do it, then who did?

I start to walk back from the park, feeling completely drained and overwhelmed. I don't know how to cope with this. When Bria came into my life it was like a spark that lit everything on fire and now it's burned out and empty. I just want her back. I just wish she hadn't betrayed my family like that.

As I walk though, I start to think about what she said. Bria said that she was at some diner with Emily. That can't be true because Emily was with her sister. But what if it isn’t true?
