I follow behind him, thinking about what he just said to me. Was the ever so cold and callous hunter having remorse? I don’t know what changed within him but instead of feeling relief I felt a sense of unease. He was always so careful and kept his feelings neutral. The next few days proceeded the same. I spend most of them locked up in this ridiculous room only being taken out for meals or if Dre wants to torment me further with all of his absurd future plans to make me his mate. On occasion Gabriel was allowed to chaperone me in the interior gardens. The only safe place I have is my bathroom, so whenever I can I go there to work on harnessing my powers but I try not to spend too much time there so as to not arouse suspicion. I’m sitting in Dre’s office with my arms crossed as I scowl at Dre who has made himself comfortable in the chair behind his desk. Piper is lounging comfortably on one of the other sofa’s drinking a glass of wine and Gabriel is leaning up against one of the walls, his usual bored look painted on his face.“Aside from your stupid plan to ‘claim me’. All of a sudden I cry out and grab my head as a searing pain shoots through it and I feel a snap in my chest. The music comes to a stop and I hear the clatter of dishes crashing to the floor as nearly everyone gasps. I nod and let them guide me through the maze of a house. We make it to a dining room, with one long massive table. Chairs line both sides with what looks to be a version of a throne at the head. Wolves are sitting down along it, with Dre sat on his throne at the head. The chair next to him on the right is empty which I assume is for me, and the left has his father. My guards nudge me in that direction and I frown at how few wolves I see. I take my seat and clear my throat, “I didn’t realize your pack was so small Dre.” His jaw ticks and he lets out a humorous laugh, “Well this isn’t everyone my dear. Only the ranked members of the pack are allowed to eat in the pack house. We wouldn’t let just any wolf come here and taint our home with their presence.” He motions to his pack members, “What an absurd comment the future Luna has made.” They laugh alongside him and nod.
