Brielle’s POV

My lips trembled, and my breath faltered. My legs felt like water as I squeezed my uniform tighter against my chest.

If I heard him correctly, he had just mentioned something about a "mating" bond. What did that even mean? I had been on my own for so long, hiding in plain sight within the human world. My best friend, Camelia, is human; she’s the only one who knows my secret. Together, we decided to bury my nature so I could live a normal life.
