Chapter.

Mike had given me a cold shoulder all afternoon. I think it had something to do withme refusing to wear the pricey scrap of material he'd ordered earlier without first consulting me. 

He had been strongly against the casual floral gown I'd insisted on rocking with brown sandals, he'd called it inappropriate, and lower than the standard of the event we were attending. I refused to take offense and firmly told him that if I was going to see his 'associates', I certainly wasn't going to show up looking like a woman of the night. 

He had grumbled about me regretting my decision, before going on to deck himself up  in a smart, sky blue double breasted tuxedo with beltless pants to match, ombre dress shoes, with a blue beret that carried the insignia of ArchAngels. 

I wanted to compliment him for slaying the look, even though I still wasn't convinced that such fabulousness was needed in a confraternity get together that was to happen at a club. No
