Chapter Five: Met her boss.

“Oh my God, you look stunning,” Charlotte complimented her son as he came down for breakfast.

He was dressed in a blue suit that matched the colour of his eyes. This reminded her of Sebastian back in the day.

“Thank you mom.” Justin kissed her cheek and took his seat

Isabella took one look at her brother and shrugged causally. “Stop lying mom, he doesn’t look that great, definitely nowhere close to daddy” she remarked.

Charlotte knew better than to reply to her daughter’s remark and so, she kept quiet.

Hearing Isabella's remark made Sebastian smile satisfactorily. Even if Charlotte forgot, his darling daughter would always have his back.

He leaned in closer to her and whispered, “You're definitely getting another car from me.”

Isabella giggled excitedly and turned to face her younger brother who was glaring at her. “What dumbo?!” she snapped

“Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at your husband’s house?” he asked coldly. He wanted to insult her but his father would rip his tongue out if he dared.

“She has every right to be here,” Sebastian said before Isabella could answer. “The only one not welcome here is you.”

“Tell him dad,” Isabella cheered her dad on.

“Don’t you dare cheer him on. You should be at your husband's house, not here. The only one not welcome here is you!” he retorted.

“Well, for your information, Clark is out of the country for a business meeting which means I'm going to be here for a week,” Isabella informed.

Charlotte grabbed her airpods which were on the dining table and shoved it into her ear. She started listening to music and turned the volume to the max so she could block out their voices.

This was something that happened whenever the four of them were together. Justin and Isabella would always argue and Sebastian would take Isabella’s side and join the argument.

Breakfast ended a few minutes later and Justin was all set to leave for the office. “Good luck,” Charlotte wished him.

“Don’t mess this up,'' Sebastian said and walked out of the room. Others might have thought that he was being too harsh on his son but Justin could understand that it was his father’s way of wishing him luck.

“Good luck dumbo,” Isabella said and hugged her brother. “If you mess this up for daddy, I won't spare you,” she whispered in his ears.

“One of these days, I’m going to teach you and your ‘daddy’ a lesson,” he whispered back before letting her go.

“I’ll see you all later,” he said and left. The driver was already waiting for him.

Justin texted Austin to inform him that he was already leaving for the office. The latter texted back telling him that he too was leaving and that he would see him at the office.

The two men were met by dozens of reporters when they arrived at the office. The reporters had received a report that the two heirs were back in the country and that they were taking over the CEO and COO position from their fathers.

They wanted to confirm if the report was true which was why they were gathered outside. Their shock knew no bounds when they saw Justin and Austin stepping out of their respective car.

They however quickly got over their shock and swung into action but so did the young heirs’ guards. They quickly formed a wall around the two men and led them into the building where the head of departments were waiting for them.

They had already received the memo that the two were taking over alongside a list of instructions. After exchanging pleasantries, Justin and Austin immediately got to work.

They went from department doing a routine check and assessing the performance of the employees. Everything was going well until they reached the logistics department.

There was an empty seat which meant that one of the workers wasn’t there. Justin glanced at Austin who in return shrugged at him. “Where is the worker who is supposed to be here?” he asked coldly.

The head of the department wiped his forehead nervously as he didn’t know what to say. She had never been late before so why was she late and today of all days when there was a routine check.

“I asked you a question. Where is the worker who is supposed to be here?” Justin repeated again.

The door to the office flung wide open and a woman came running through it. “I’m. here. Sorry. I’m. late,” she said in between catching her breath.

Austin, who had been eagerly waiting for this moment, quickly grabbed a chair and sat down so he could sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

“Welcome Miss,” Justin said calmly as he turned to face her. And her reaction to seeing him was priceless.

Jasmine jerked up from her sleep and looked at the clock. She saw that she was already late for work. ‘Shit!’ she cursed and jumped down from her bed.

Why did she have to wake up late today of all days? The new CEO and COO of her company were going to arrive today and he was going to be going round the company for a routine check. She would definitely lose her job if she wasn’t there.

She quickly had her shower and got dressed. She couldn’t even have her breakfast much to her mother’s dismay.

As she got into a cab, she received a text from her colleague informing her that the new bosses were around and they would soon reach their department.

This was not good at all. She had gotten her job after so much difficulty; she couldn’t afford to lose it. She prayed to arrive at her office before her boss reached there.

Jasmine finally arrived at the office ten minutes later. She quickly went in and rushed to the elevator. It seemed luck was not on her side as all the elevators were already occupied and were heading up.

Not wanting to wait, she decided to take the stairs. This was a very bad idea as her office was on the tenth floor. She finally arrived on her floor, however, she was too late as she heard the new boss’ cold voice asking where she was.

She increased her pace and entered her office. “I’m. here. Sorry. I’m. late,” she apologized as she tried to catch her breath. She had exercised for the whole year.

“Welcome Miss,” she heard a familiar deep voice say. She lifted her head to look at who spoke. Her face immediately pale and it was as if she had seen a ghost.

The colour drained from her as she realized that he was the CEO of her company. Behind him was his twin brother and he was smirking at her. She had the urge to rip out his throat.

She knew he looked familiar the first time she saw him but she was too mad and focused on her mother’s safety to realize that the man she was talking to was Justin Gerano.
