Guess what? I am updating again! Shocker I know, anyway I hope you enjoy as Valerie continues on. Today I had a substitute teacher in class they started every conversation with "And my good people..." Swear to god I was cracking up in the corner by the end of it. That was probably the most interesting thing of my day. Please like and comment or even add to your library if you haven't already! It really helps motivate me to continue.

To say I was surprised was an understatement. A wide training room spread before me. Targets lined one wall, training dummies on the other. An array of weapons were on display glinting in the sun on a wall polished so cleanly I could see my reflection. What surprised me most of all was the ceiling. Glass. Entirely glass, so clear it appeared as though it wasn't even there.

I couldn't help but gape at the glass roof relishing the feel of the sun's rays trickling through. This could actually be fun.

“I wondered how long you were going to stand at the door.” A tired voice mumbled. Justin lazily looked up from a sun chair a frown across his features and disheveled hair slightly in his eyes. As though blaming me for the intrusion.

And my thoughts of enjoying myself were officially over. Where I stood at the door, I still couldn't help but notice the gorgeous sapphire eyes.. I coughed, “Yeah. I wasn't really expecting this.” I gestured around the room.

I ignored him gingerly wandering around the room. I felt his eyes watching me assessing if I would grab a blade and lunge at him or not. The thought was tempting but I needed a plan if I wanted to escape with Vivian in one piece. I neared a fighting mat and my thoughts went back to training with Vivian. We were safe at the pack, even if they despised us. This castle was the direct opposite.

Suddenly I was tackled my hands bound above my head in a matter of seconds. I growled struggling against the firm grip as Justin eyed me from above suspiciously. He poked my neck with his finger. “I win. In a fight you would be dead” He said simply standing up and brushing himself off.

“That wasn't fair! I wasn't ready.” I exclaimed scrambling up to my feet.

“You should always be ready. The moment you’re distracted is the moment you die.” Justin replied bluntly shrugging. “It is your life though so please indulge me.”

Feeling humiliated and frustrated at what he pulled I hissed, “You can’t just go around tackling people!”

Justin raised a brow flashing a grin “I just did.”

Oh he did not just pull that card. I launched myself at him. Only to yet again be pinned. “Here I thought you could be a challenge.” Justin breathed locking onto my gaze. “Yet all I see now is a girl trying to be something she isn't.”

“I never asked for this.” I spat shoving him off.

Justin sighed seeing as I needed much work in the fighting department. Instead he beckoned me towards the pool. “Show me what you can do.” He demanded. “Show me. So I know that I’m not wasting my damned time.”

Giving him a glare worthy of having any of my packmates cringe. He raised a brow in amusement, I gave in. Taking a breath I released my magic. Gently I raised an orb of water out of the pool. Slowly forming a snake.

“Am I supposed to be afraid of a snake?” Justin asked narrowing his eyes.

Growling softly I concentrated, morphing the snake into a dragon. Having it float towards Justin. “Admit that I know what I’m doing.” I deadpanned giving him another icy glare.

Justin stared at the dragon hovering inches away from him seemingly intrigued. “I have seen death and I have seen life, but not in all my travels have I found someone as peculiar as yourself.” He murmured before adding “I bet you don't even know what you are though.”

I’d had enough, the dragon blew out water from its mouth splattering all over Justin. Dismissing the dragon I froze Justin up to his neck in ice. Strolling over I placed a hand on his cheek. “Two can play this game.” I smirked heading towards the door.

“Valerie! You come back here and fix this.” Justin yelled sending shocks down my spine.

I stopped thinking. First plan, leave Justin here and hope to not get caught as I make an escape. Or second plan, release Justin and have a tour off the castle so I know the exits…

Second idea would do better. No point in escaping if I have no idea where to go. “Fine.” I sighed snapping my fingers and the ice vanished. Leaving a fuming Justin behind.

I crossed my arms “By any chance could I have a tour?”

“After that stunt? You will be lucky if I don't let Andrew or the bloodsucker near you!” Justin spluttered looking enraged at my stunt.

“Well it would be a shame if I just accidentally lost control. Leading to you being stuck as an icecube for a few hours.” I said innocently picking my nails.

“What! Are you blackmailing me?” Justin seemed surprised that I was doing this.

“Oh no! I would never do that.” I paused “I am just mentioning, no, warning you. That any of those possibilities could soon become your future reality. Or you could always take me on a tour.” I said innocently batting my eyes. I didn't care either way. I could always find my own way out. Besides I could care less if he was an icecube or dead in a ditch somewhere. Somehow I knew the feeling was mutual.

“Alright. Let’s go then.” He sent me a glare as he gripped my forearm and dragged my out not impressed in the slightest.

Emma was chopping carrots to her heart's content as I walked through the doorway. Realizing I hadn't seen her since she found out I was The White Wolf.. Would she even want to see me? Emma looked up and a smile broke across her freckled cheeks. “Come over here! The stew won’t cook itself!” She gestured to the pot once more.My worries vanished as I stirred the soup alongside her. Emma didn't talk about the wolf thing and I was grateful. I could almost picture this as us at the packhouse cooking. Not in a castle with my sister being held hostage.“Alright pour it into these bowls. Then we must have them on the table.” Emma instructed reading off a list.“Couldn't I just eat it?” I questioned pointing to the soup.“No!” Emma screeched taking the pot from me. “We must follow the instructions, and nowhere does it say to have your gifted friend eat it before dinner.” She scolded carefully pouring the soup herself.

Warmth encircled me and the welcoming scent of the ocean woke me from my slumber. I was in Justin's room. I looked over realizing we had both moved to the middle of the bed causing me to be a few inches away from him. Justin's hair was a mess sticking up every which way, though mine was probably worse.I stared at him for a moment unsure to leave or wait till he awoke. His breath was warm and wisped from his slightly parted lips into the chilly morning air. Breathtakingly handsome. If only he wasn't such a prick. I gingerly stroked a strand of his hair running it between my fingers. So soft.. His eyes cracked open as he peered through his long lashes at me. The sapphire blue starred in confusion as I snatched my hand away. A grin played upon his lips as he stretched, the dawn light making his eyes

The mind is a funny thing. One moment emotion is high and running rampant the next, you feel nothing. Maybe I was harsh on Tamara, but she was in no place to treat anyone in such a manner. Yet that rush of energy. The sheer power I possessed in those moments… Was nearly enough to make me wish I had enjoyed it more, drawn out the minutes and truly made her sorry. Made her suffer.I blinked and the thoughts vanished, being overrun with a sense of dread. The hallway looked as it always had. The huge window with a seat to view the gardens was at the end next to Eric’s room. Our room, I suppose. Damion’s door was approaching and I swallowed my ever growing fear. Feeling it flutter in my chest like a caged animal. The feeling was enough to make my steps hurry and dizziness take hold. Of all the things to fear, I feared Damion. Not for his being a vampire, for his behaviour. For the true pleasure he took by inflicting pain and suffering on others. It was h

Hurrying down the hallway I paused on hearing a sensual female laugh from the throne room. Could it be Vivian? Hope sparked in my chest and I quietly headed to the entrance. I paused on the threshold as I beheld a beautiful female. Her pearl white skin matched to Damion’s and I instantly knew she was a vampire. Her brown waved hair seemed to be dampened by a deathly tint while her eyes gleamed like dark pools of chocolate glinting with unknown knowledge. Justin stood to the side stiff and a slight frown to his face. Eric seemed inclined to have the female walk all over him and this castle as she trailed a hand along his forearm. “Come now Eric the girl will be wed to you and she will rise as your Queen.” The female quipped.Eric frowned shrugging her off, “She decides for herself what she wishes she is already against us for bringing her here.”The female snarled, “Remember your place Eric.” She licked her ruby lips eyeing Justin, “You are sworn

I stayed with Justin throughout the morning. Luckily for him the wraiths had improved. They were faster and more precise and could even doge slightly. For being soul spirits of the deceased they had improved greatly. At around midday Justin waved the wraiths off.“They are doing better.” I spoke carefully watching him dunk a bucket of water over his head.“Not good enough. They need to not hesitate. Kill faster and more cleaner.” Justin paused “If they are not ready by Summer Solstice, Eric will not let it go lightly.”I scoffed, “He isn't that bad. What’s he going to do? Huh?” I shook my head. Justin fearing Eric I couldn't understand anymore. Eric was just broody and ill tempered I doubt he would harm Justin.“You would be surprised. If you were anybody else, half the things you’ve pulled wouldn't of even happened.” Justin spat sheathing his knives.“Really? And why is that?”Justin’s face crumpled, “He acts

I had a plan. A really bad plan. But a plan nonetheless. Justin had a point if I was to stay here I would have to shift. Emma had left for bed and I was in my room alone with my thoughts. I quietly slunk towards the door listening waiting for any noise to alert me. Nothing. Not a soul stirred outside. Perfect. My wolf was nagging at the back of my mind desperate to shift. I couldn't go on like this. My thoughts were clouded with shifting and escape. I would go mad. Taking a deep breath calming my nerves I shifted.Everything became clearer in the dark. I could smell the breakfast cooking in the kitchens in the far wing. My stomach growled in hunger and I cringed as my claws clicked on the hardwood. I may be unable to run but I could sleep in wolf form just fine. Jumping into bed I rolled myself up into a burrito wolf and closed my eyes embracing my heightened senses for a short time.Trust is a delicate thing. Something earned and cherished, and
