Locked up

Anna woke up in the middle of the night, with a strong headache. She decided to go downstairs to get a cup of water to drink. 

She had cried herself to sleep and that was the cause of the headache she's feeling. Once she got the water, she then decided to go check on the kids. Anna opened the kids room door silently, then peeped through the door. 

"Mum." Mariel called getting up from her bed.

"Mariel?. Why are you still awake?. It's midnight." Anna said, walking into her kids room.

"Well.. I couldn't sleep." Mariel answered, squeezing her hands together.

"Why, can't you sleep?." Anna asked, holding her daughter's hands in hers.

"Well... Thinking about the new woman and her son in the house, occupies my mind a lot, that I can't sleep." Mariel confessed, looking down on her toes.

"Come here." Anna mumbles wrapping her hands around her daughter's body. "I'm so sorry sweetheart, I'm so sorry that mommy can't do any
