Ethan’s POV

The second I reached Aria's door, I couldn't wait another second and started pounding on it.

My heart was hammering so hard I thought it might actually burst out of my chest, and each knock echoed through my entire body.

The door swung open, and some wolf I'd never seen before stood there holding a paring knife and peeling an apple. When his eyes landed on me, something flickered in them—something I couldn't quite read.

"Can I help you?"

I didn't have time for this. Finding Aria was the only thing that mattered right now, and I moved to push past him into the house.

"Move!" The word came out rougher than I meant it to, but desperation made me careless.

His knife flipped in his hand with practiced ease, and suddenly the silver blade was right there, inches from my eye and blocking my path. The movement was smooth and controlled—this wolf clearly knew how to fight.
