The moment Derek's lips closed over hers, Camilla's entire body froze. Her eyes remained wide open in shock, her hands pinned to her side with his large palms. He was leaning over her, but he held her tightly against his chest.

She stayed frozen for a few more seconds before coming back to her senses. With a deep frown, she raised her hands to push him away from her, but Derek's grip tightened. When she tried to twist her face away, he reached up and gently grabbed her hair, keeping her in place.

Fortunately, Jeremy and the other workers paid no heed to them. They stepped through the front doors of the motel and disappeared inside.

Relieved that he hadn't been discovered, Derek pulled back and let out a sigh. But what happened next shocked the hell out of him.

Camilla slapped him. Her palm connected solidly with his cheek and he felt the sting go over his face. He even staggered slightly with the force of it.

"You bastard!" She shrieked, moving away from him. "How dare you put your hands on me? Just because you helped me out, it doesn't give you the right to take liberty."

"No you don't understand..." Derek tried to explain but Camilla was fuming. She pulled out the wad of dollar bills he had given her and threw it on him.

"Here! Take your money back! I'm not some slut you can manhandle, Mr. Jeremy. Thanks for your bloody help. It will never happen again!"

She whirled around and stormed away, cursing under her breath.

Derek stood there staring after her until she was gone. Then he quickly looked around to make sure there was no one in sight.

He got back into his car and silently sat behind the wheel for a moment, his cheek still stinging from the slap. The incident that occurred a few seconds ago played over in his mind until he couldn't hold himself anymore.

He laughed. He leaned back on the head rest, chuckling to himself. One hand lifted and massaged his cheek, remembering how her petite palm had landed on his face.

To say he was amused was an understatement. Camilla intrigued him, and she was the first woman who had the boldness to hit him.

Most women would gladly give themselves to him, especially when they realized he was rich. But Camilla–she was something else. She had no place to stay yet she threw his money back at him in anger.

He was intrigued alright. Fascinated even. This was the very first time for a woman to snag his attention.

After a while, his brows furrowed in worry. Now that she left the momey with no place to stay, where would she go? She would be in danger if she kept wandering round the streets of New York alone.

As much as he hated what he was about to do, he started the car and drove in the direction she took. Maybe if he saw her, he could explain to her why he kissed her, and apologize too.

But after thirty minutes of driving around, he didn't find her. She had completely disappeared.

Derek sighed and tapped his fingers on the wheel. Why was he even worried? She was just someone he met by chance. They might never cross paths again.

Making up his mind, he turned the car around and drove back to his estate, pushing Camilla out of his thoughts.

A few minutes after Derek drove away to search for Camilla, she stepped out from the spot she had been hiding. She looked around to make sure no one would see her, then hurried over to the parking lot where the dollar bills where still scattered.

She would be a fool to leave the money for someone else to find. She was even lucky he didn't take them when he left.

Bending quickly, she picked and stuffed the bills into her pocket. A part of her was glad that he left the money behind. How else would she have survived the night?

The other part remembered how she had caught him laughing to himself inside the car. He was a weird one, that one. And what kind of man left such a huge amount of money lying freely on the ground? How rich was he?

Shaking the incident out of her mind, she stepped into the motel and booked a room for a few days. The cash she had was more than enough to sustain her for weeks before she found a job and an apartment.

After taking a warm bath and her dinner, Camilla crawled into the bed and threw the duvet over her, yawning tiredly. It had been one long tiring day.

But to her surprise, she couldn't fall asleep. Her mind was filled with the strange man who helped her. She couldn't stop thinking of how he kissed her so boldly.

And despite her anger at him for trying to take advantage of her, she was grateful for his help and generosity. He helped her without thinking, which was more than what her ex husband and his family had ever done for her.

She didn't want to think about Nick or his sister and his mother, or the woman who claimed to be the mother of his child. Those people were dead to her, and she would have her revenge on Nick some day, for murdering her father.

After a while, her eyelids grew heavy and she dozed off. The last thing she thought of was the stranger and she remembered the colour of his eyes.

They were a striking icy blue.

In the blink of an eye, one week flew by. One week of pleasure, desire and whispered promises. Camilla wished they could stay a little bit longer in Paris. But she knew it was impossible. Their honeymoon was over, and Derek needed to return and take charge of his company. The flight back to New York was silent, but it was a comfortable one. Camilla slept all through, tired and content, snug in Derek's embrace. As for Derek, he tried not to let his annoyance show as he read through the text messages Jeremy had sent him. Apparently, Andrew had managed to get a few of the shareholders on his side and they were planning on sabotaging the entire company and gaining half of his entire assets. Derek didn't feel an ounce of worry. He knew the likes of Andrew Houston and he also knew how to deal with them. What he was bothered about was the fact that Andrew might make a move on Camilla or his mother, using them to get to him. He would have to protect them every way he could. The flight

"I want you to make love to me."Camilla's words echoed in Derek's ears until every other sound faded. His eyes darkened and without warning, he lifted her until her weight was in his hands, his fingers curling around her buttocks. "I'm not going to ask if you're sure." He rasped, his lips brushing over hers. "I am sure. I want you Derek. Make love to me."Her whispered response was all he needed. He strode into the room, with Camilla still cradled in his arms, tights claspsed tightly around his waist. He paused at the edge of the bed and slammed his lips on hers in a hot desperate kiss. It started slowly, gathering speed and momentum as they each tried to dominate the other. His powerful hands tightened around her buttocks as he rocked against her, his thick bulge straining for release. They broke the kiss, each gasping for air for a moment. Then Camilla tangled her hands in his hair and pulled his mouth back to hers. Her head fell back in surrender, her lips parted in a silen

Paris was everything Camilla always dreamed about, and more. The city of love and romance, like her father used to say. She couldn't believe she was finally in her dream city, with the man she loved. The private jet landed at the airport and crawled round the tarmac until it came to a stop. She was still staring through the window, her gaze pinned on the scenario below her, when she felt Derek's warm touch. She turned around, and when he saw the tears gleaming in her eyes, he panicked for a moment. "What is it my love?" He asked worriedly. Camilla smiled and quickly wiped her eyes. Then she shook her head and looked back at him. "Nothing. I'm just a little bit emotional. I can't believe I'm actually here with you. Everything is so perfect and I can't help but feel overwhelmed."Her voice faltered when Derek leaned in and silenced her with a kiss. She shut her eyes and sighed, her lips moving slowly with his as he deepened the kiss. He gently grasped her chin, his thumb stroking

"Marry me again, Camilla. For real this time."Camilla felt her heart leap within her, pounding hard against her chest. Her gaze clashed with his, her lips parted in shock, her expression one of disbelief. "What?" She whispered. "I know this is unexpected." Derek continued, then let out a soft chuckle. "Hell, I never expected to be in this position again. My heart has been closed off for ten years. But I met you, and your warmth thawed the ice around my heart. I love you desperately, Camilla. I want to spend eternity with you."Camilla was still in shock. Her heart raced, her mind wild with a million thoughts. Everything was happening so fast and it made her a bit terrified. One thing she had learned over the years was, whenever things were going perfectly for her, something always ruined it. She was terrified that something would ruin this peace and serenity she had with Derek. But on the other hand, she could no longer imagine a life without him. A life without waking up next to

"Do you remember this place?" Derek asked, slowly taking off his hands from her eyes. Camilla opened her eyes finally and looked up at the tall building before her. She smiled as memories assailed her mind. Of course she remembered it. Paragon Dining. It was the place she and Derek had their first dinner, before pictures of them flooded the internet. It was a fond memory, one she would never forget. "I do." She said, smiling up at him. "But why did you bring me here?""Impatient much." He said, gently taking her hand in his. "You'll find out soon enough."Camilla silently followed him, all the while wondering what he was up to. It was a cool evening and the night air caressed her bare hands. She had on a gorgeous, black, sleeveless evening dress, with silver heels and matching jewelries. Derek, as usual, looked utterly good looking in his grey tux. He had never looked more handsome. The parking lot of the diner was deserted, just as it had been that first time. To her surprise, t

"How did you put the tracker in the necklace?" Camilla asked. She was seated in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection, then at Derek who stood behind her, drying her hair. They stood in the middle of the room before the large mirrors, wearing matching robes. Derek held a hair dryer and he raised it above her head, letting the hot air dry her damp hair. After several moments of pleasure, they finally left the bathroom. Camilla sat with her legs crossed on the sofa, smiling up at Derek who was playing with her hair as he dried it. "It was easy." He answered. "After our argument, I did a lot of thinking. I knew I had no other way of proving Nick's lies. So I told Perkins to run a background check. It turned out that video Nick showed you was a fake one.""It was?"Derek nodded. "It was edited, all to lure you out. I knew you would never believe me, so I had to find another way. Perkins had his men place a tracker on the necklace, and I gave it to you. With that, I would know
