Chapter 73 : Hiding away

"Chris!" I yelp, rushing towards him and immediately holding him by his arms. "Chris, are you okay?"

I touch his cheek gently, scanning his face. His eyelids are slumping down and his body seems too heavy as if he can't even handle his weight.

"What hap—" I pause, sniffing something. "Are you— are you drunk?"

He curls up his face, leaning against the wall and pushing his body back to his feet.

"Yeah. A— a bit. But I'm fine", he groans.

He looks away and it seems like he's deliberately not looking at me. He hasn't looked at me ever since he entered. Maybe, because he's drunk. But I feel there's something more than that. He's sounding so pressed.

"Okay. Come. Let me help you to change. You want a shower?" I ask.

He walks past me, shoving my hands away. "I'll do it myself, Ivanna. Go and sleep"

It leaves me in quite a shock. I can see he's unable to do anything properly. He just takes out random clothes that he doesn't even wear at night.
