Chapter 46: A Revenge

Max walked quickly to the basement. As Mirielle had said, there was Rob and a few other members of the pack on guard duty. Max, a leader and a descendant of the previous alpha, who everyone still respected even today, had free access to the prison that was forbidden for anyone who did not have permission to enter.

He was ready with a bulletproof suit, a penknife, and a pistol with silver bullets that contained serum from the blood of Marion, his mother. Mirielle, who had tested Marion's blood, said it contained a poison that was not deadly but torturous enough for vampires and wolves.

And one thing he had not forgotten, a part of his own body that he could easily control to inflict the same painful torture that Seth had inflicted on Ivory—his claws. Max would not let the man feel safe after doing such a heinous thing to the woman he loved.

Not even a step into the basement, one of the guards blocked Max's path and prevented the man from entering.
