"Jaz, what nonsense are you spouting?"

Jennifer rolled her eyes and said coldly, "He's merely a shield I'm using to fend off marriage proposals. I feel nothing for him."

"Really? Because every time I mention him, your demeanor changes," Jasmine teased with a playful smile. "This isn't the icy Jennifer I remember!"

Jennifer shot her a cold glare.

Jasmine quickly stuck out her tongue. "Jen, I'm just kidding!"

Observing Jennifer's reaction, Jasmine closed her laptop and twirled the pen in her hand.

"When you were there, what was he up to?"

"He got into a fight with his superior. He might have been fired on the spot if I hadn't intervened in time."

"Hmph! He's rash and impulsive. He also lacks foresight," Jennifer sneered at Frederick's actions.

But Jasmine's eyes gleamed with mischief. "Yet, I can't help but think there's a certain charm to him..."
