CHAPTER 127- I know what you are.

The smell hits me first and I feel my stomach churn in disgust. The smell of blood, sweat and in the middle of everything, he stands, staring at me wide-eyed.

Alexander.

Knife in hand. Blood dripping. A woman chained against the wall, unconscious with her mouth taped shut.

My throat tightens. He doesn’t look like the man I’ve gotten used to in the past weeks, he looks like something else entirely, someone I want nothing to do with if this is how he truly is. His chest is heaving as he tries to calm himself.

I swallow hard, forcing the words out of my mouth. “Stop.”

For a long, painful second, I think Alexander will ignore me, that he'll turn and press the blade deeper, tear her apart piece by piece until she does whatever he wants her to.

But then… he lowers the knife, dropping it to the ground.

Just like that without any words or resistance or anything.
