~Tinsley~

Shortly after we settled in and explored the suite, a production assistant’s voice crackled over the intercom speaker in the hallway, instructing all couples to gather down at the main courtyard area.

When Alexei and I walked out, Zane and Chloe were already waiting by the path. Zane looked as miserable and tightly wound as ever, standing several feet away from Chloe, while Chloe was busy posing for a stray cameraman.

The producer stepped forward, smiling brightly. “Welcome, couples!

~Noah~I moved after him and grabbed his shoulder, attempting to turn him around, but he shoved my hand away. I swung at him almost immediately, catching him across the jaw.He turned back towards me, his expression changing.“Are you seriously doing this again?” he demanded, rubbing his jaw. “I have already told you that I’m not giving you the gun, so why don’t you stop acting like a fucking child and listen?”“Because you don’t get to decide what happens to my belongings!”I threw another punch, but he managed to dodge it. Before I could recover, he caught the front of my shirt and shoved me backwards. My back collided with the edge of the table, sending a few things crashing to the floor.I pushed away from it and charged at him again. This time, Alexei caught me before I could land a proper hit. He grabbed my arm, twisted it away, and forced me backwards. I struggled against his grip, managing to drive my elbow into his side before he released me.For a brief moment, I thought I

  • My Hockey Ex Rigged the Dating Show?   160. Give me my fucking gun!

~Noah~“No, you should listen for once in your miserable life. You’re eighteen years old, Noah, yet you behave like a little boy desperately trying to convince everyone that he’s some dangerous mafia heir. You carry guns around, threaten people, and think frightening everyone is the same thing as earning their respect. It isn’t.”I laughed, although his words were beginning to irritate me more than I cared to admit.“Are you giving me a lecture about respect? You, of all people? The same Alexei who abandoned his family because he wanted to spend his life playing hockey and being some fuck boy?”“At least I have something I actually want to do with my life.”“And what exactly is that? Chasing a puck around an ice rink and hoping people will clap for you?”“At least I’m not spending every waking moment trying to impress a man who will never be satisfied with me.”My expression changed. Alexei seemed to notice because he continued, his voice becoming more pointed.“That’s your problem, N

~Noah~Perhaps he had finally grown tired of pretending I didn’t exist.Well, that was unfortunate for him because I had no intention of making things easier. My gaze slowly travelled towards the floor, where my pistol had fallen after he punched me. I didn’t immediately move towards it. Instead, I allowed my eyes to linger on the weapon, deliberately making sure he noticed what I was looking at.I even tilted my head slightly, as though I were considering whether to pick it up or leave it where it was.I knew exactly what was going through his mind.He remembered the last time I had held a gun in front of him, and I wanted him to remember every detail of it. The shooting range, Father’s instructions, the look on his face when he realised I wasn’t joking, and the bullet that had left a reminder of that afternoon across his ribs.I wanted him to wonder whether I was capable of doing it again. And judging by the sudden tension in his shoulders, my little performance was working. The mo

~Noah~Alexei glanced down at the pistol again. “Is this what you consider entertaining?”“What’s wrong with it?”He gave a humourless laugh. “You really have no idea when to stop, do you?”“Stop what? I’m simply enjoying myself.”“Then enjoy yourself without dragging me into it.”I watched him for a moment before deciding to say what had been on my mind since he arrived.“Tell me something, Alexei. Are you actually a man, or are you just some fuck boy who spends his life chasing women and playing hockey?”His expression hardened. I continued before he could respond.“Father seems to think there’s still something worth saving in you. He keeps talking about how you could return to the family and take your rightful position, but looking at you, I honestly don’t see what he’s hoping to find. You spend your time pretending to be something you’re not, and whenever someone expects you to act like a Romanov, you run off to play your little games.”“Are you done?”“Not quite. I was wondering

  • My Hockey Ex Rigged the Dating Show?   157. Something Entertaining

~Noah~There was a brief silence before he replied. “Find someone else to entertain you, Noah. I’m busy.”“You haven’t even seen what I have to show you.”“I don’t care what you have to show me.”I leaned against the doorframe, turning the pistol in my hand. “That’s a rather disappointing attitude to have towards your younger brother. I came all the way to invite you personally, and you’re rejecting me without even knowing what the invitation is about.”“Then consider yourself rejected. Now get out.”I laughed quietly. “Take your time. I’ll be waiting.”I left before he could throw something at me and returned to the room.I spent the next few minutes practising, occasionally glancing at the time. When Alexei finally appeared, he was wearing a black T-shirt and grey sweatpants, his hair still slightly damp from the shower. He looked around the room before his eyes settled on me. Then he noticed the targets. His expression changed almost immediately.I was standing a few feet away from

  • My Hockey Ex Rigged the Dating Show?   156. Come and play with me

~Noah~It was a cold Saturday morning, the kind that made staying beneath the covers seem like the most sensible decision anyone could make.Unfortunately, I had never been particularly good at doing what was sensible, especially when I had something more interesting planned. It had been a couple of weeks since I offered Grace a thousand dollars every week to work exclusively for me. She was still allowed to attend school and babysit, of course, but I didn’t want her taking cleaning jobs for other people.I wanted her time when I needed it, and I wanted to know that whenever I called, she wouldn’t tell me she was busy cleaning someone else’s apartment. The arrangement had worked out rather nicely. Perhaps a little too nicely, considering how much I had begun looking forward to her visits.I found myself checking the time whenever she was supposed to come over, and on some mornings, I would deliberately leave a mess behind just to have an excuse to keep her around longer. It was becomi
