3. A Shocking Decision.

"I promise to make you mine, Kylie. Don't worry, I will talk to my parents about it tonight for sure. I promise." Damon chanted this in his head as he drove.

He remembered, almost painfully, how she hugged him tightly before he left and with teary eyes told him she loved him.

Damon loved Kylie so much that he would go above anything for her. But he couldn’t go against his parents. He wanted them to approve of his relationship because he not only wanted to stop sneaking around but he greatly valued his parents’ approval.

He knew it wouldn’t be easy, since when is anything easy? But he was willing to try. For her!

Damon lowered his foot onto the break, making the car slow at a stop light and ran his hands through his hair tiredly. This entire ordeal was such a nuisance. For the last six years, things had been perfect until business was brought up.

Business was the only thing that made them fight to the point of shouting because with projects and lost opportunities, frustration tended to turn into anger.

Just then, the light turned green. He pressed onto the gas and started driving.

Kylie was one of the strongest women Damon had ever met. She was a role model to many girls and women out there.

Damon is always proud of what Kylie has achieved since her father passed away when she was just 18 years old.

It's still a mystery for many members how Kylie's father had passed away but not for Damon and Thomas.

Her Dad kept her away from all of his business stuff and never talked about it in front of her. When everyone thought, it's an end for Kylie's Mage Companies then, she stepped up and took over her family business when she was just 18 and made it to the top.

It was one of the hardest phases for Kylie. Because, as soon as her father passed away, their company started to crumble down. There's no one to believe her... Even her own mother hated Kylie the most. Her own mother didn't believe it when she told her that she can manage the companies. But, Kylie took the risk because she knows how much her father cherished his business.

Kylie's mother thinks Kylie is the reason for her Dad's death and Kylie always blames herself and feels guilty for being a reason for her father's death. But, Her father's death is still a mystery for herself.

Damon stopped the car in front of Reymond's Mansion and got out of the car.

He looked around the familiar glassy Mansion that looks like a modern Castle with a big garden around the Mansion.

This isn't the first time Damon is here but every time he is here, he is mesmerized by the beauty of this Mansion.

"Damon, let's do this. You can do it. Just get done with this dinner. Go home and tell your parents about Kylie. Yes." Damon murmured, sighing and walked inside the Mansion with a fake smile on his face.

"Damon…" Grace called.

As soon as Damon walked inside the Mansion Grace called out his name. But the first person he noticed when he stepped inside the Mansion was Riya and his mother hugging each other lovingly.

Damon could sense the lovely atmosphere around the house with giggles around him.

It's always like that when Riya is around and Damon can't deny that. He loved Riya's company and how carefree she is with his parents.

"Damon!" Grace called again, getting him out of his thoughts.

"Aunt Grace... How are you doing?" Damon asked

"I am good. But it's been a long time since you came home." Grace said smiling.

Grace walked towards Damon and hugged him. He hugged her back with a bright smile.

"Yeah... You know, right? Business, work and all are stressful." Damon replied.

"Yeah that you don't even have time to come meet your parents either." Cathy jumped in between the conversation while rolling her eyes by walking towards her son Damon.

"You need to rest from your work. Do you know, it's been five days since you came home? You always stay at the penthouse leaving your own home." Cathy complained. She hates it when her son stays over at his penthouse rather than coming home.

Obviously, his mother knows Damon had been working late night and is too tired to go home. So, he prefers staying at Penthouse.

"It's okay, Cathy. He will change his habits after he gets married. Don't worry." Grace said smiling.

"Hopefully." Cathy replied and hugged her son.

Everyone laughed over it while Damon frowned at them and Riya blushed.

"Ummm...?" Damon stuttered as he didn't understand what others were trying to say.

"Damon, hope you are doing good?" Arthur asked.

"Yes, Uncle Arthur. I'm good. Hope you are good too?" Damon asked with a small smile.

Arthur just nodded his head with a smile making Damon smile back at him.

"So, you guys told him about it?" Grace asked, looking at Cassy and Thomas.

Damon raised his eyebrows at Grace and then looked at Cathy and Thomas.

"Ahh... Err… No. Damon, I didn't tell you but, I am telling you right now. So, listen carefully... We love Riya so much and she is close to our family. You both are close friends too. So, we decided to get you both married." Thomas said, smiling.

"What?!" Damon shouted.

As soon as Damon heard that, his world froze. It's like, he didn't know how to respond to his Dad back. It was as if someone just threw a big rock on him. He is shocked to reply to anything to his Dad.

IHow can his dad take such a big decision about his life without discussing it with him? How can he just decide Damon to get married to the girl that his dad chooses for him?

Yes, Damon and Riya are close but that doesn't mean that Damon loves her. He doesn't love Riya. Not even a bit but he respects and admires her a lot. Riya is not the love of his life but Kylie is. He loves Kylie. Not Riya.

"Damon... You okay?" Riya asked.

Damon looked up at everyone and saw their confused, frowned faces. Riya looked nervous. He didn't know how Riya agreed to get married to him without even knowing if he likes her or not.

The only question in his mind is, "Is Riya okay to be in a loveless marriage with him?"

"Dad, can we talk?" Damon asked, looking up at Thomas.

Everyone looked at Thomas and Damon with their confused faces. Thomas raises his eyebrows at Damon, not sure why he is asking him to talk when Thomas is waiting for him to tell that he is okay to get married to Riya.

"Dad, Please…" Damon requested and Thomas nodded his head.

Thomas got up from the couch and Damon walked out of there to the patio while Thomas followed him behind.
