Nicolas
As we began walking, I could see Anaya was both tense and terrified. Is she afraid that this may reveal her lies? I hope she didn’t lie to me. Otherwise, I’d have to kill such stunning beauty. However, Viler will not rush to my house for anyone.
Viler and his man were stopped near the gate of my home. I cannot let my enemy inside my home. We’re here near the gate because I didn’t want to experience the danger of doing it. When I saw only Viler and his driver, aka bodyguard, and no one else, I was perplexed. I was told he had others with him.
As we stood at the gate, it shocked me to see Viler, one of the most feared mafias, having tears in his eyes as he whispered, “My little Passero.” Damn, she is his daughter. But how?
“Daddy...” a wail from Anaya interrupted my thought process. It was a whisper only people near her could hear. It sounded like a tiny child seeking her father. Viler was in awe of her. I dismissed my people and only Ben and I were at the gate with them.
I cleared my throat, and he glanced at me. The kind grin he had just given Anaya had transformed into a scowl, and he continued, “For your sake, Ricci, I hope you did not in any way injure my daughter. Or I’ll wreak havoc on you and your crew.”
“Watch it, Viler. Your daughter was the one who trespassed on my property. I would not have called you if I intended to hurt her.” I said.
He nodded, satisfied with my response, extended his hand, and said, “Thank you.”
My eyes grew large. Viler Costa just thanked me! I want this incident to be included in my biography! I mentally shook my head and held his hand in mine, saying, “As you know, I try to keep the peace as much as possible. But you don’t have to thank me since I would never harm a woman.”
“Yes. If you don’t mind, I’d like to talk to you and my daughter privately about something,” he stated.
I think Viler wanted me to die by shock, as he was being civil to other people. But I responded, “Sure. We can move to the outbuilding office. It’s just next to the pool house. I hope this is a peaceful discussion, and I won’t need to bring my guys because you don’t have anyone with you.”
“You don’t need any men at your side. It is a peaceful and urgent conversation,” he stated.
I nodded, and we walked the short distance to the office. I noticed Anaya and Viler staring at each other with curiosity and admiration as we sat on the sofa in the little office. I said after clearing my throat with curiosity, “What is the urgent discussion?”
He sighed and replied, “How many people in your organization are aware that Anaya is my daughter?”
“There aren’t many. Maybe three or four, including me. When Anaya stated she was your daughter, just two of my guys were present. And my right-hand man Ben is aware.” I responded.
“I’d prefer to keep the number or, if necessary, cut it. I don’t want anyone to know,” he said. Anaya’s face was filled with pain when she heard those words. “I realize it’s important news, so name your price for keeping this information private.”
He sighed and continued, “What about the guards and people who have heard from the other?”
“I do not think they know and we can manage the rest,” I answered.
He nodded and said, “For all purposes, Ricci. My daughter is dead and not sitting in front of us. You never saw her or me,” he said. Did he just command me? This old man needs to keep his tone proper with me.
“What?” I chimed in. “Viler, I thought she died in...” his growl cut me off.
“As you can see, she is not dead and will never be if it was in my control. And it’s none of your concern, Ricci,” he said, enraged.
“Costa, if you want to keep this private, it’s none of my concern; but I have no intention of hurting you or your daughter. Control yourself,” I snarled.
“You can make a decision and call me about the price later. I’ll be taking my daughter with me now. Thank you once more,” he added as he went out, holding Anaya’s hand. I sat there thinking.
When my phone rang again, Ben inquired, “Boss, Viler, and the girl left? Should I follow them?”
“Yes, let them go, and don’t bother following him. I don’t believe he will harm the girl,” I responded.
I pondered what had just happened. Viler’s daughter is alive? How can that be? The havoc that engulfed Italy when we learned he had lost his family is still fresh in my memory. He massacred people left, right, and center. And what price is he offering? I would never do something nasty to a woman unless it is extremely necessary.
I returned to the mansion and sat in my office, fetching a bottle of whiskey from my desk. I drank my drink while thinking about Anaya. Something was not right. Ben entered my office smirking. Only he is permitted to enter my office without permission since he is not only my right-hand guy, but also my best friend.
“I recognize that grin. What’s going on in your head, Ben?" I inquired.
“Is this true? Is she Viler’s daughter?" he inquired without answering my question.
“Yes, it is correct. She is the ‘dead’ daughter of Viler,” I responded by air-quoting the word “dead.” "Now answer me why the grin?" I asked again.
“You’ll find out why I’m grinning soon. Listen to me carefully and understand what I am proposing," he said and being his explanation.
"No," I roared.
"Nick, you know it is a great plan. And you might as well go along with it if you want to expand your business and fulfill the promise you made to yourself and your mother," he said calmly.
I gave him an annoyed looked but I know he is correct. He shot up from the chair and said, "Let's go. You need to talk to some people."
I nodded, and he accompanied me through the mansion until we came to a hidden entrance reserved for our undercover operatives. I dialed a number on the red landline and they answered it after two rings.
“Alpha,” said the one on the other end.
“Omega5, I need you to do something for me,” I smirked.
Hi everyone, Any answers on what is brewing between Ben and Nick? Let me know in the comment section. Don't worry you will know soon. *wink* Lots of Love ❤️
Anaya “May I ask you a question?” I asked the man seated next to me, who was apparently my father. My hand was still in his grasp when we exited Nicolas’ office and sat in the car. We were driving somewhere, although I’m not sure where. With a heavy Italian accent, he squeezed my hand and said, “Of course, bambino.” “Where are we going?” I asked, hoping it wasn’t somewhere dangerous. “Home,” he whispered, tenderly smiling at me. My eyes welled up with tears. This is how my father or my uncle, I think, used to look at me. I miss them. “Hmm... Could you tell me more about this? Right now, I’m at a loss for words,” I murmured. “As soon as we get home, I’ll answer all of your questions. We appear to have arrived at our destination. Jacob, please go to the back door,” he said. My brow furrowed. He doesn’t want to be seen with me. That’s why he wanted Nicolas to keep me a secret. Maybe I’m not legitimate. A wave of sorrow washed over me. We walked to his home, which appeared to be con
Anaya As I took the letter out, my father looked confused, so I handed him the letter. “This is the letter I found with the one you gave them,” I clarified. His eyes widened, and he asked, “They never gave you my letter, did they?” I shook my head a no, and he closed his eyes and murmured something in Italian. How do you tell a man who has gone through so much that his daughter doesn't remember him? “Read it,” I replied, pointing to the letter in his hand. He took a deep breath and opened the letter. I waited patiently for him to study it. I knew the words by heart, as I had read them multiple times. It was the only thing that made me believe all my life was a lie. He started reading the letter out loud. Kiddo, I and your mother are no longer here if you are reading this. I hope all is well with you. My darling, I do not want tears in your eyes. We don’t know anyone stronger than you. You might have found a second letter in this envelope and are confused about what is going on.
Viler I was astonished to learn that Anaya was in Nicolas Ricci's hands when he called. Is she my daughter, or is someone attempting to manipulate my feelings? However, I brought a trustworthy driver along, and the two of us raced to Ricci's house. My doubts dissipated the moment I met her. That was my Anaya, my little girl. When I first saw her, I couldn't believe my eyes. She has a striking resemblance to Anna. I coerced Ricci into committing to keeping her existence a secret. I don't want her to be in any danger. Although I slaughtered anyone who had hurt my family, I am still a Mafia boss and have a lot of enemies. She handed me the letter Gio had written as we talked, and my blood boiled. How could he do that to me? We were family, and you would never hurt your family. When she referred to me as Papa, I could not contain the flood of emotions that swept over me. When she hugged me, my heart felt so full. This will be one of many hugs. She'll stick by my side this time, and I sw
Nicolas I was examining our newly received weapon shipments. I smiled as I held out my specialized M249 SAW. This gun was custom-made for me and shipped from the United States by the most skilled technicians. Oh, she is a beauty. I am quite excited to give it a go. But I don’t have a target yet. That’s unfortunate! “Nick,” Ben yelled as he dashed towards me. On the other hand, I may well pull the trigger! I pointed the weapon at him, but he swatted it away like a fly. This dickhead is far too comfortable around me. “What now?” I questioned, huffing. “You need to see this,” he remarked, taking his phone from his back pocket. After playing a video, he handed me his phone. My eyes popped out when watching the video. “How did our men not notice that Viler and his daughter were being followed? I need to see that guy right now. Nobody is messing with my plans,” I fumed. “I have already sent the instructions. We’ll have something in an hour or two,” he responded. I nodded, and he exited
Anaya I was sitting in the expansive garden that encircled my father’s house. I wanted to absorb as much of the sun’s warmth as possible. The garden has a wonderful atmosphere with gigantic trees and well-kept grass. The air is fresher, and the temperature is pleasant enough for me to close my eyes and just enjoy the weather. The calmness and stillness at this moment are familiar to me. However, the extravagance of being the long-lost daughter of a Mafia don is leaving an indelible mark on my mind. However, I am trying to wrap it up and spend as much time as possible with him before returning to England. I am not sure if it will thrill my father to hear about me returning to England. But I cannot abandon the life that I have built there. I have my house, my studies, and my farm to take care of. For some, it may not seem like much, but for me, it was my life a week ago. Although it took a sharp turn, I also think I am useless here. As I reflected on my sad life, I felt a powerful ga
Nick BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. I took off my earpiece and lowered my rifle on the table. I pushed the lever, causing the sheet of silhouette target paper in front of me to dangle. Bullet holes peppered the black and white target. Fifteen out of fifteen of them were in the bull’s eye. I smirked. I pulled up a freshly drawn target and fired my prestigious M&P 9 M2.0, hitting the target in the head, chest, and crotch. The holy trinity. “Damn,” Ben muttered. I drew another target, laughing. I loved the thrill of shooting. Nothing beats the adrenaline of destroying your target with a perfectly placed shot. The blood, the kill, and the feeling of holding someone’s life in your grasp are all enticing. I shook my head as Ben drew his target. “How many times have I told you to tip your rifle to the left at a 45-degree angle, Ben?” He let out an exaggerated sigh. “Boss, I’m trying. I’m not sure how you got that shot! I’ve been trying it since yesterday. Fuck. I need to shoot an actual target instea
Anaya I finished putting on my navy blue crop top and jeans. With bags under my eyes, a tired face, and a hunched posture, I looked like a zombie. I exhaled and closed my eyes, taking a shaky breath in and out. My father’s weak words from two nights ago echoed in my memory as I sat on the chair near the window. Flashback "My little one, will you give it to me what I ask for?” The inquiry baffled me, but I responded, “Of course, Papa.” I softly smiled as I wiped his tears. "Bambino, I don’t think I’ll last long...” he trailed. “Papa, please don’t say things like that,” I cried."I just got you back in my life. I cannot lose another parent. Please." “Anaya. Sweetheart. They were not your parents,” he coughed. I immediately recognized my mistake and replied, “No, they were not. But you are. Please stay strong. This will pass.” He smiled weakly and said, “I am trying, my little one. But you know there is no guarantee in life. The only thing I want for the rest of my life, however b
Nicolas Ben trailed behind me as Sally led the way to Viler’s medical wing. When Sally told me that Costa wasn’t feeling well, I was perplexed. He sounded well when I spoke with him a few hours ago. Sally was tight-lipped, and all the secrecy bothered me. However, I’m keeping quiet about it for the time being. I need to talk with Viler about it when the time comes. Sally came to a halt and pointed to a door. “He’s inside.” I nodded and knocked on the door. I yanked the door open when I heard a faint ‘come in.’ My attention was drawn away from the individual in the hospital bed and to the one seated next to him. As I looked at Anaya seated with a worn expression and wearing simple attire, I gulped. She tied her hair back in a bun, with a few strands swinging down her elegant neck. She looked lovely. How can she seem so cute even when she’s exhausted? I dismissed my thoughts immediately. This is not a path I want to follow. The only thing at play here is pure sexual desire. I looked
