Chapter 2

Author: Sweetie Moore
I had resolved to discuss the matter with her calmly, so I ordered a wire cage online. I planned to keep Honey from running around while we were in class.

Instead, Jessica launched into a vicious verbal attack and even labeled me as Honey's owner simply because I had bought the cage.

My kindness earned me nothing. I was falsely accused and ultimately suffered a brutal death.

After being given a second life, I decided to let Jessica raise her dog however she wanted.

In my previous life, the dorm supervisor was checking the rooms when Honey, whom Jessica had hidden away, suddenly went berserk.

She charged at the supervisor, knocked her down, and viciously tore into her arm and thigh.

Lily, who claimed to love dogs, stood frozen in shock, while Mia, who had always been afraid of dogs, climbed onto her bed and refused to come down.

Jessica slowly emerged from the bathroom. When she saw the scene before her, she simply stood there without moving.

The dorm supervisor was in her fifties.

She screamed as Honey bit her, and when I rushed forward to pull the dog away, Honey bit me several times as well. The clothes covering my arm were torn apart and stained with blood.

Despite the pain, I kept wrestling with the dog.

After several minutes, I finally managed to pull Honey away from the supervisor's arm.

Although the dorm supervisor remained conscious, surviving the attack did not make her grateful. Instead, she insisted that Honey was my dog.

She even threatened to report me to the school and demand severe punishment.

When Honey lunged at the supervisor again, I stepped in front of her once more.

However, the supervisor started screaming at me without bothering to hear the truth.

"You've seriously violated the school rules! How could you keep a pet in the dorm?"

"Ma'am, Honey isn't my pet."

"Still trying to deny it? Why is no one else stepping forward? If she isn't your dog, why are you protecting her?"

The supervisor didn't even listen to my explanation before declaring me guilty.

Students from the neighboring rooms gathered around, recorded videos, and uploaded them online.

When online users began asking who owned the dog, Jessica panicked.

She used her allowance to hire paid commenters and deliberately directed the public outrage toward me.

She even posted photos of the wire cage I purchased.

That was how the internet came to believe I was Honey's owner.

Lily and Mia were threatened by Jessica, and to my shock, they nodded and told reporters that Honey was my dog.

When the dorm supervisor's son found out, he slapped me repeatedly until my face swelled beyond recognition. I bled heavily and eventually died from my injuries.

Memories of the pain and helplessness from my previous life stabbed through my heart all over again.

But this time, I had left the dorm well before the inspection. I wanted to see what would happen without me there.

After calculating the dorm inspection time, I returned to the room.

Just as expected, the dorm supervisor arrived with a flashlight and opened the door to Room 302.

Honey lunged at her the moment the door opened again. This time, the dog tore into the supervisor's entire arm until it became a bloody mess.

"Call an ambulance…"

Lily and Mia both turned deathly pale, while Jessica didn't dare step forward.

"Honey? Honey, stop!"

Jessica finally seemed to react to the terrifying scene before her, but she only stood there screaming uselessly without taking a single step forward.

Lily turned toward Jessica and shouted, "Jessica, get over there and stop her! That's your dog!"

Jessica immediately grew wary and glared at Lily, shaking her head in fear.

"How did Honey become like this? I'm scared too!" Jessica even took several steps backward.

When she first brought Honey back, she confidently claimed that she had raised the dog for years and that Honey would never bite anyone.

She never expected something like this to happen.

Now, instead of stepping forward to stop her dog, she backed away and tried to escape.

Honey showed no sign of stopping.

Several male teachers eventually rushed over and rescued the dorm supervisor before taking her to the hospital, but her arm was already a mangled mess.

Students from the neighboring dorms gathered around, recorded the attack, and uploaded the footage online.

Some even posted a full-length video of the mauling, which quickly went viral.

Students at our school were stunned, while furious online users posted questions demanding to know why the dog's owner had not stopped her.

Room 302 was eventually left with only Mia. She often woke up terrified in the middle of the night.Whenever she woke with a scream, students from nearby rooms filed complaints against her.Mia also hoped someone would move in with her, but after hearing what had happened, no one was willing to share a room with her. Some even wished she would leave the dorm building too.Under the pressure, she had no choice but to apply to live off campus. The next time I passed Room 302, its doorway was already covered in dust. After that, I stopped paying much attention to the matter. For some reason, the number of stray cats on campus kept increasing, so the students formed a Campus Animal Welfare Club. One day, when I returned to the dorm after class, I saw a cat curled up beside my roommate's bed.Sophie Grant quickly explained, "Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not keeping a cat. This one was injured, so I brought her back temporarily. Otherwise, she might be bullied by the other cats."

The three girls were placed in separate police cars.Although Jessica looked extremely pale, she still put on an innocent expression in front of the officers."Hello, sir. We're all law-abiding students. You must have made a mistake.""Jessica Miller, Lily Rivers, and Mia Bennett, correct?"They nodded."Then there's no mistake. Get in."I turned around and walked away without looking back. When I checked my phone, their names still dominated the trending list. The lengthy video of the three of them coming to my new dorm to cause trouble had also been exposed. It had already been reposted twenty thousand times.I leaned back in my dorm chair and quietly watched everything unfold. They had tried to outsmart everyone, only to bring disaster upon themselves.News reports about the three girls being escorted into police cars soon followed.Just then, another news alert appeared."Mrs. Johnson, a woman who was bitten by a dog at a university in the city, was pronounced dead thi

"Right, right. You three are clearly the most decent people in the world."I countered every move they made.Their words couldn't provoke me.Mia also stood up and spoke awkwardly."Chloe, you don't need to be so confrontational. Jessica is a student too. Don't speak to her like that."You should help your fellow students. We were roommates, after all. Don't be so heartless. People can grow attached even to a dog.""Then go say all that to the dog you're so attached to!"I was so angry that I laughed.Jessica showed no intention of leaving. She glared at me viciously.A knock sounded at the door. My new roommates had returned from class. The three of them finally left, though they were clearly reluctant."Chloe, were those three people your former roommates?"I nodded."Why did they look so upset when they left? They didn't come looking for trouble again, did they?"I shook my head."I don't think so."I returned to my desk. By then, the number of likes on my livestr

Lily immediately lost her temper, but Jessica cut in first."We'll count your tablet as a thousand dollars and deduct that from the seventeen thousand five hundred dollars you owe."Otherwise, you may not graduate. All those years of studying will have been for nothing!"I looked at her in confusion. What did my ability to graduate have to do with any of them?I sighed."Did Jessica go from being a student council leader to a school administrator? That doesn't sound like a promotion."Please turn around, open the door yourselves, and leave. School rules prohibit students from entering other dorm rooms."Lily argued confidently, "Whether Jessica became a leader has nothing to do with you. Your priority now is figuring out how to pay the remaining sixteen thousand five hundred dollars. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences."Mia spoke with a trembling voice."Chloe, you don't want to make things unpleasant for everyone, do you? We've been roommates for years. Can't we show eac

Sharp-eyed online users quickly found Jessica's social media account and even dug up the information about the bar she frequented. After watching the video I posted, some users even identified Honey's breed and estimated her size. The school did not want the matter to escalate, so it allowed the incident to be settled privately. After that, Jessica never looked at me the same way again."Chloe, I'm a respected student council leader. What's wrong with taking the blame for me? You're just jealous of me. You deliberately wanted to see me humiliated, didn't you?"I only claimed you owned the dog because I planned to praise you to our academic advisor once this was over and help you receive an award. How could you be so unreasonable?"Meeting such an ungrateful roommate was the worst luck of my life."Jessica paid seventy thousand dollars in compensation. She acted cheerful in front of everyone, but privately, she scavenged other people's leftovers to eat.At the beginning of the

Lily reacted quickly, snatched the tablet from my hands, and smashed it onto the floor."How can you be so calculating? You even fabricated a video like this?"I replied calmly, "If it were a doctored video, why did all of you react so strongly? Destroying the tablet won't help. I scheduled the video to be uploaded to an online forum long ago."It has already been copied and shared hundreds, if not thousands, of times."Did you three really think you could frame me just by sticking to the same story? Didn't your consciences bother you when you tell such blatant lies?"In my previous life, they feared the truth would come out and a disciplinary record would jeopardize their graduation. At Jessica's urging, they had deliberately provoked the man until he beat me to death. This time, I really wanted to see whether they would choose a disciplinary record or aiding and abetting a killing. The man calmed down and rolled his eyes as he made the same demand he had in my previous life.
