Abigail's POV
Bloody cheater? He was so quick to accuse me. Well, I shouldn't be shocked anymore when he doesn't trust me at all. For someone who claimed to love him, he was quick to come up with an accusation.
"Who the hell are you?" Edward questioned with his brows drawn together. He was filled with so much curiosity and I understood why. He was out of the country a year ago when I got married to Damien.
"I should be asking you that. Who are you to my wife and how dare you come here to show your face?"
Edward's eyes went round as he shot his gaze at me. "Wife?"
"I will explain everything to you later, just please get me out of here." I pleaded and he stared at me for a few seconds, finally agreeing to my pleas after all.
Damien scoffed and put his hands in his picket, not ready to let it go, yet. "I wanted to believe Mother and Rose lied, but they didn't. You brought him here, too." He accused, forcing me to face him. I was sick and tired of him blaming me for what I didn't know.
"I don't care what you think of my relationship with him. You can even think of him as my husband too!" I raised my voice, trying to calm my anger so badly to prevent me from saying something I would regret the moment I let it out.
Edward drew his lips into a straight line, not wanting to say anything even though he had a lot to say. There was concern lacing his features but he respected my decision.
"I have nothing to say to someone who claimed to love me but easily pointed his accusing finger at me." I could feel my rage surging through, threatening to burst out and burn everything it came in contact with.
I couldn't keep it in anymore.
"You have always wanted to go to Jenna and now is the right opportunity." I snapped my finger and pointed it to him, "I am sure this was all a setup by you and her to take me out of the picture. You both did this to be together!" A single tear flowed down my cheek, as I let it all out even though it wasn't enough to calm me down.
"Abigail, do you want me to send him out?" Edward asked, wanting to reach out to me but was stopped by the bars separating us.
My lower abdomen suddenly hurt, forcing a wince out of me. I held on to the cell bars for support and my new predicament didn't go unnoticed by Edward and Damien.
"Are you alright?" Edward questioned, trying to reach out to me. "I will get you out." He scurried away, leaving me behind with Damien.
"What's wrong?"
I lifted my gaze to his face and almost cringed at the look of concern, evidenced by his brows furrowed.
I rolled my eyes and let out another wince.
"Officer, we need a doctor here!" He called out, walking closer to the bars and taking my hand in his. "Don't worry you will be alright. Just breathe." He instructed, squeezing my hand gently to assure me that he was there with me.
I wanted to scream at him and pull his hand off mine, knowing he was just acting to care. He was engulfed by his anger at me betraying his trust, so why would he care so suddenly? It was surely an act and behind it was mockery.
The more I think about his hate towards me and his distrust, the more my anger kept surging into me and his hold on my hand felt like a deep cut.
Just as I thought before he must have planned the act with Jenna to take me out of his life and it would be easy to get a divorce with the charge of me harming someone, killing their unborn child, and committing adultery. I hate him!
I lowered my head and clenched the bar harder, letting the ears well up in my test to flow out like a river. I don't see it anymore. I had wanted to hide it from him and not see how weak ideas were, but the pain was so terrible that it felt like my soul was being pulled out of me.
Edward came back with two officers and the cell was opened up. I lost my balance but fell into Edward's hand.
"I will take her with me." I heard Damien's voice and his hands reaching out to take me away from Edward.
"Haven't you done enough? I don't know your relationship with Abigail, but if you try anything stupid, you will curse this day." It was Edward's turn to lay out his threat.
"She is my wife!"
"I don't care to know what relationship you have with her, Mr! She is my-" I tightened my hand around him, stopping him from speaking any further.
I wouldn't give Damien any reason to take me away and back to the house. "I want to go!" I whispered to him to which he nodded.
"The cops are working on something. We will be out of here soon." He answered while I leaned closer to him. Edward faced Damien and let out a deep sigh, "I don't think it is your concern to know who I am, so I will leave that aside. As for you, you should step away. She doesn't need your help."
"Abigail is my wife and I have the right to take her with me and not you!" He scowled and it became intense between the two.
"Please stop!" I cried, bringing their attention to me and what was happening. I don't know what had happened, but I could feel my pants soaked and it wasn't my period. I just wanted to get out and away from Damien and this police station.
"The paperwork is ready, sir!" I heard an officer say while I shut my eyes. Edward's arms went around me and my feet left the floor.
"Don't you-" Damien started but I quickly spoke up, turning my gaze to him.
"I don't want you anywhere near me, Damien. Stay away from me!" I swallowed down the hard nuts in my throat and winced a bit. "Edward here is my lover and unlike you, he believes me."
"What?!"
Abigail’s POV“Get my coat” I ordered Vicky, taking my seat behind my desk, putting my fingers through my hair“Okay ma’am” she answered, bringing up my coat as I removed the jacket and put on my coat.“There’s something I want you to do for me” I said, holding a pen and just then a message came in through the telephone.“Let them in” I said immediately as I knew who it would be, turning to Vicky “You’ll send a message to someone, Damien Forest” I said as at the same time, a man with a pale skin had emerged from the door with a bald headed man holding a briefcase.I noticed how puzzled Vicky was, her eyes in shock, unsure of what to say “I’ll leave them ma’am” she said in a low tone, excusing herself.“Wait, this is the message you’ll be sending to Damien, my ex-husband” I said with a smile.Turning to the men in black with a briefcase “The papers please” I said, stretching my hands as they stood in front of me, handing me the papers, I signaled for them to sit.The paper read ‘Divorc
I walked into the elevator, the only way I could get in and out of the Forest corp without being noticed was in the blue and striped white uniform of a cleaner.“Make sure you scrub those places clean, I want them spotless” the head janitor said calmly before assignment of different duties.“Carmen” he called out to me, his voice was low “You get to clean mr Forest’s office, this..this is a sacred job” he said, I gave him a warm smile.I walked to his office, he was already out, thankfully, I wouldn’t have to hide..too much, I adjusted the cap on my head, I resorted to cleaning, I had the mop to the side.“Who are you?” I heard from behind, I stopped in my tracks ‘Is it Damien? Am I busted?’ I thought to myself as my heart began to pound, I turned to look at the man who just mentioned my name.“I’m the new cleaner of this office sir” I said calmly, hoping he would let me go, my cap still covering most of my hair and the face mask planted on my face.“Why do you use the face mask?” He
Cyrus’ POVHer hair still smelt like lavender, her grip giving me the warmth I had always searched for, Abigail, I finally found what I wanted, you, your scent, your smile, that’s all I want.“Cyrus, is everything alright?” Mother asked, My thoughts were disrupted, I looked to the door.“Oh, mum, I’m fine” I said, opening the door to see her face, she stood behind her mother.“Wh..why are you guys up?” I asked, puzzled.“Nothing really, she said, she’s grabbing a glass of milk, I’m here to check up on you” mother said with a smile on her face.“Sleep tight” she added, walking away. Abigail held the glass close to her lips, her lace pajama top was quite visible, her hair tied up in a restless bun “Sleep tight Cyrus” she said smiling as well, walking past my door.“Good night” I said with a faint voice, closing the door. She looked the same, her body, her face, her personality, she’s the Abigail I knew, not the one that married that coward Damien Forest. I could remember the first day I
I looked at him, his light green eyes and dark brown disheveled hair had always made my heart melt, yet after an encounter with Damien, I only saw him as a friend.“Hey blondie” he said, resorting to the nickname he had given me since we were little, now he looked big and strong, better.“Hey, how are you..” I said, pulling away from him, his scent lingering in my nostrils “I didn’t know you were..back in town” I pointed out, I had just thought about him moments ago and he appeared out of nowhere.“Well.. I’m just coming from the airport, I just landed” he said with a smile on his face as he pointed to his bags that laid that the front door.“Oh okay, sit, sit, how was your trip?” I asked, taking you my bag that laid on the couch to the table.“It was okay, I’ve missed everything here, the people, you, everything” he said, relaxing.“Well.. I’ll get you some food, you go in, freshen up and I’ll do the same” I said, he didn’t need me to show him to the guest room, this was once his h
Damien’s POVI looked at the restaurant ahead of us “Jenna, I’ll get your favorite meal” I said on the phone as we drove in different cars, the only way to communicate would be through our phones.“Oh okay, I’ll head on home then” Jenna answered, I watched her car go in front of mine and almost immediately, it went far into the road, whilst I got to park my car by the road side. Then I noticed a scuffle, two people emerging from the restaurant, I took the car key, walked into Milie Havens, it had Jenna’s favorite but then I heard what seemed like her voice ‘I must be hearing things’ I thought as I took the bag of food but I wasn’t hearing things or hallucinating, there she was, Abigail, her long brunette hair falling below her shoulders, her lips in a thin line.“I said let go of me!” She yelled to the man, she obviously didn’t want to be with him, that was Edward, the same person who she confirmed to be her lover, my heart had begun to race, instinctively, my body moved, I held his w
Abigail’s POV“So not only did he come, he brought that witch of a woman too” I muttered under my breath as I looked through the window, her body etched onto his, his lips on her forehead, I had once wished that was me, in his arms, his face so close to mine but not anymore, I wanted him on the floor, begging and regretting his actions but I had to stay put.“Well ma’am we saw her parked outside” Vicky said, her hand holding her tablet.“Hopefully she did an amazing job” I said looking at Vicky, we both knew what I was talking about, the fake Abigail Conner.***Hours earlier;“Get here right now!” Vicky ordered as per my command, the lady had become a confidant, at least she had no choice, she was paid a lot of money to stand as the heiress and as such she had to do as she was told.“Is she here yet?” I asked Vicky, perplexed, Damien was still in the building and from the security footage he had made his way to the first floor, my office and soi had to lay low.“Sorry I’m late” she s
