Damien's pov
I pulled over in the driveway of my villa bug not without hitting away the trash can by the way. I tightened my hand on the steering wheel, recalling what had happened at the police station.
How could she do this to me? How was it so easy for Abigail to betray me this much? She decided on me, made me fall in love with her and in the end, hurt me so badly.
I grunted and punched the steering wheel so hard that it horned. "Fuck you, Abigail!" I was going to make her pay in the worst way. She made me lose my child and betrayed me this much. She wouldn't go unpunished and I will make sure of it.
I will make Milkyne City a terrible place for her. She will surely come back with her knees on the floor.
The knock on the car window brought back my attention to where I still was. I looked out and my rage went to a higher level, but I put my control to work. There was no need I be angry with Jenna anyway. She is the victim too.
I let out a deep breath and came out of the car. "Damien, are you alright? I heard the chaos happening here and had to run out. Are you hurt?"
"Jenna, I just need some rest. Stop pestering me with so many questions." I pleaded, making my way to the building.
"I have to ask. I am worried about you. You drove in as if you wanted to pull down the building and then, you honked so loud. What is the problem?"
I abruptly turned and faced her, holding up my hand. "I need some quiet, please Jenna. Let me be on peace."
"Peace? You haven't said anything to me since I came back. You haven't asked how I am faring or what happened to me. You have been so quiet and turning away from me like I was some plague that should be avoided."
"There is so much going on right now, Jenna and you are the least of my worries."
"Least of your worry? I was kidnapped and I lost my child all because of that stupid girl, Abigail."
"Don't you dare call her name again!" I snapped, letting go of the rage I tried to keep in. I had lost that control and couldn't help raising my voice at her. I watched as she moved back, trying to prevent me from letting out my rage on her. I don't plan to and will never do that. I just needed something or someone to help calm me down and Jenna wasn't helping.
"It's all because of her, right? You are so angry because of her?"
Not eating to listen to any more nag, I walked away, completely ignoring her. I know I was being harsh on her but he shouldn't have pestered me so much.
I walked back in and met Mother and Rose, seated in the living room both holding their glasses of wine.
"You are here, Damien."
I rolled my eyes and made to leave but halted when I heard a whisper. "Finally, we have gotten rid of that girl. I thought she wouldn't leave. She was a pain in the neck." Mother whispered to Rose, who laughed but quickly covered her mouth.
She nudged Mother to inform her I was staring at them and the two immediately kept quiet.
"Can no one talk about her again in this house? I don't want to hear it anymore?"
"Why?" Rose inquired and crossed her legs. "Shouldn't you be the most happy one making us? I mean, you have always hated her and were trying to look for Jenna. Jenna is back now and Abigail is gone. Doesn't it call for a celebration?"
"Rose is right." Mother stood up with a glass of wine and got to me. "You should join us. We've gotten the victory we have always wanted which includes a contract with the Conner's Empire." He informed with a huge grin playing across her face.
A contract with the Conner's Empire? They got my attention. I drew my brows together and climbed down the stairs. "A contract with the Conner's Empire? What do you mean? When did it happen?"
She laughed and patted my shoulder, "Ever since That bad luck left our house, things seem to be falling into place. With the Conner's Empire by our side, we will be able to pay our debts and become inevitable."
My coming has been facing so many backdowns and I feared its ruination would come sooner than later. The Conner's Empire was our only hope of redemption as a partnership with them would mean the debts getting paid for.
Mother brought out her phone and showed me an email message. It was a confirmation of their plans to give my company a try. It was so unbelievable that I couldn't contain the happiness surging through me. Finally, I needed to calm down, and for that moment, I forgot about what happened at the police station.
"Things are finally walking in our favor. Everything is coming into place and soon you will get married to Jenna and live the life you have always wanted." She further announced but I ignored them, only focused on the contract being accepted by the conglomerate.
I was still living over the moon when a new message came into my mother's phone. She tapped on it and the smile she had on her face slowly faded, being replaced by surprise.
"This can't be." She muttered ceiling up but whatever she was reading, wasn't good news. She finally lifted her gaze and shook her head. "Something happened?"
I collected the phone from her and went through the message, going almost through the same reaction as she did. My happiness was cut short just as it started.
Was there a mistake made? It has to be a mistake.
"What happened, Damien?" I heard Jenna ask.
I read through the message again, this time, taking in word by word, 'This is to inform you that your contract with the Connor Empire has been terminated.....' it wrote.
Abigail’s POV“Get my coat” I ordered Vicky, taking my seat behind my desk, putting my fingers through my hair“Okay ma’am” she answered, bringing up my coat as I removed the jacket and put on my coat.“There’s something I want you to do for me” I said, holding a pen and just then a message came in through the telephone.“Let them in” I said immediately as I knew who it would be, turning to Vicky “You’ll send a message to someone, Damien Forest” I said as at the same time, a man with a pale skin had emerged from the door with a bald headed man holding a briefcase.I noticed how puzzled Vicky was, her eyes in shock, unsure of what to say “I’ll leave them ma’am” she said in a low tone, excusing herself.“Wait, this is the message you’ll be sending to Damien, my ex-husband” I said with a smile.Turning to the men in black with a briefcase “The papers please” I said, stretching my hands as they stood in front of me, handing me the papers, I signaled for them to sit.The paper read ‘Divorc
I walked into the elevator, the only way I could get in and out of the Forest corp without being noticed was in the blue and striped white uniform of a cleaner.“Make sure you scrub those places clean, I want them spotless” the head janitor said calmly before assignment of different duties.“Carmen” he called out to me, his voice was low “You get to clean mr Forest’s office, this..this is a sacred job” he said, I gave him a warm smile.I walked to his office, he was already out, thankfully, I wouldn’t have to hide..too much, I adjusted the cap on my head, I resorted to cleaning, I had the mop to the side.“Who are you?” I heard from behind, I stopped in my tracks ‘Is it Damien? Am I busted?’ I thought to myself as my heart began to pound, I turned to look at the man who just mentioned my name.“I’m the new cleaner of this office sir” I said calmly, hoping he would let me go, my cap still covering most of my hair and the face mask planted on my face.“Why do you use the face mask?” He
Cyrus’ POVHer hair still smelt like lavender, her grip giving me the warmth I had always searched for, Abigail, I finally found what I wanted, you, your scent, your smile, that’s all I want.“Cyrus, is everything alright?” Mother asked, My thoughts were disrupted, I looked to the door.“Oh, mum, I’m fine” I said, opening the door to see her face, she stood behind her mother.“Wh..why are you guys up?” I asked, puzzled.“Nothing really, she said, she’s grabbing a glass of milk, I’m here to check up on you” mother said with a smile on her face.“Sleep tight” she added, walking away. Abigail held the glass close to her lips, her lace pajama top was quite visible, her hair tied up in a restless bun “Sleep tight Cyrus” she said smiling as well, walking past my door.“Good night” I said with a faint voice, closing the door. She looked the same, her body, her face, her personality, she’s the Abigail I knew, not the one that married that coward Damien Forest. I could remember the first day I
I looked at him, his light green eyes and dark brown disheveled hair had always made my heart melt, yet after an encounter with Damien, I only saw him as a friend.“Hey blondie” he said, resorting to the nickname he had given me since we were little, now he looked big and strong, better.“Hey, how are you..” I said, pulling away from him, his scent lingering in my nostrils “I didn’t know you were..back in town” I pointed out, I had just thought about him moments ago and he appeared out of nowhere.“Well.. I’m just coming from the airport, I just landed” he said with a smile on his face as he pointed to his bags that laid that the front door.“Oh okay, sit, sit, how was your trip?” I asked, taking you my bag that laid on the couch to the table.“It was okay, I’ve missed everything here, the people, you, everything” he said, relaxing.“Well.. I’ll get you some food, you go in, freshen up and I’ll do the same” I said, he didn’t need me to show him to the guest room, this was once his h
Damien’s POVI looked at the restaurant ahead of us “Jenna, I’ll get your favorite meal” I said on the phone as we drove in different cars, the only way to communicate would be through our phones.“Oh okay, I’ll head on home then” Jenna answered, I watched her car go in front of mine and almost immediately, it went far into the road, whilst I got to park my car by the road side. Then I noticed a scuffle, two people emerging from the restaurant, I took the car key, walked into Milie Havens, it had Jenna’s favorite but then I heard what seemed like her voice ‘I must be hearing things’ I thought as I took the bag of food but I wasn’t hearing things or hallucinating, there she was, Abigail, her long brunette hair falling below her shoulders, her lips in a thin line.“I said let go of me!” She yelled to the man, she obviously didn’t want to be with him, that was Edward, the same person who she confirmed to be her lover, my heart had begun to race, instinctively, my body moved, I held his w
Abigail’s POV“So not only did he come, he brought that witch of a woman too” I muttered under my breath as I looked through the window, her body etched onto his, his lips on her forehead, I had once wished that was me, in his arms, his face so close to mine but not anymore, I wanted him on the floor, begging and regretting his actions but I had to stay put.“Well ma’am we saw her parked outside” Vicky said, her hand holding her tablet.“Hopefully she did an amazing job” I said looking at Vicky, we both knew what I was talking about, the fake Abigail Conner.***Hours earlier;“Get here right now!” Vicky ordered as per my command, the lady had become a confidant, at least she had no choice, she was paid a lot of money to stand as the heiress and as such she had to do as she was told.“Is she here yet?” I asked Vicky, perplexed, Damien was still in the building and from the security footage he had made his way to the first floor, my office and soi had to lay low.“Sorry I’m late” she s
