Chapter 33

SKY POV

The ride to my penthouse from the airport passed in a big hazy blur. I would be lying if I said I remembered any events that occurred from when I left the yacht in the middle of the night and boarded the last-minute flight back home. But one thing for sure is I had the energy to send Diego a quick text and he promised I would find him at my house by the time I landed, and for that, I couldn't be more happier.

Walking into the apartment building, I felt drained. In all my life, I have never been this exhausted. I barely greeted the guards before stepping into the elevator that took me to the 18th floor on and then walking down the long corridor which seemed to be stretching on and on and on until I arrived in front of my door. My keys were back at the manor, so I couldn’t open them for myself.

With a tired and beaten-up body, I lifted my hand and sounded the alarm, then counted a few heartbeats before the door was whisked open.
